Spider-Man is one of the most popular superheroes of all time but particularly good figures of him are more scarce than most collectors would like. Can Mafex deliver an import figure to show Hasbro and Revoltech how it's done or will it be another one to add to the mediocre pile?

@@mr.fastturk4568 the only criticism I have for revoltech is the torso peg hole. Not how it looks, but specifically how it’s implemented. My Black Iron Spider lasted about 4 days due to the Torso plug expanding. And I didn’t even pose it much, it came out of the box like that. The peg holes expand way too easy.

Light blue has always been my favourite look for Spider-Man. This is exactly the kind of blue I would like for every single Spider-Man figure released by any company.

As someone who grew up on the 90s cartoon and MvC games, the light blue is definitely my favorite blue for Spider-Man, so as of now this is my favorite and definitive Spider-Man figure unless a company comes along and makes the perfect 90s cartoon Spidey. Still wish it came with the unmasked head though.

Yeah but I rather get the Amazing Yamaguchi Spider-Man 1.0 if I’m gonna do an MVC display, and it’s just because that figure can do the iconic MVC pose 100 times better

I feel like the shade of blue depends on the size and style of the eyes. Because a Romita color scheme with Bagley eyes takes some getting used to.

the colorist for a fair number of issues of ultimate spiderman used a kind of slate blue with a good amount of grey in it, and I really liked that.

The original version of this is my favorite. But there's a lot of green in the blue. I'd love a true cobalt blue with normal shading. This is my perfect spiderman mold and I'll happily get another if the colorway suits me.

hmmmm, if I didn't know better, I would have thought that was a tease for a future review at the end 🧐. But let's not be silly 😁. Usually I'm more into the true blue, but this lighter blue looks really nice. Waiting for my shop to have it in stock. Can't wait. Thanks for the review

I got mine last week and it is a very cool figure, a lot better than the recent Marvel Legends i personally not feeling too atach with those than the Mafex version since the way it looks and the new color variant it brings me back in 90s and early 2000 reading and looking at the artwork of Spider-Man Thanx for the review! Hope that Mafex try doing some villains like the Green Goblin in comic book style and a 90s Venom

@@kiralord8588 Same! I think it is a common issue with the web thing on his costume, i have seen others try to add their own way but need to check a method where i don't messed up and make a huge mess =P

If anything this is a great base figure to do some custom work on, maybe black wash the blue and add some shine to the lenses, the red looks shaded and makes it look off compared to the flat blue

I think the first one and this one are pretty solid the comic one seems to fall short with some parts coming off easily. I have the 1st one and this one is on the way. I like the look of the comic one but on several reviews it falls apart didnt want to spend the money on that one.

It's weird comparing hand sizes between hasbro and mafex figures. Hasbro makes mafex's hands look really tiny, and mafex makes hasbros' hands look freakishly huge.

Apparently theres a qc issue that has been going on with this figure. The rightand left shoulder are swapped. And your copy seem to have that issue you can tell by the way the red pattern of the costume angles at the front

This is my favorite color combo. It's probably why I like The Scarlet Spider also. The hands are good physiologically but I prefer larger hands like sentinel's Spidey. I hope they make a classic Spidey. I don't care for those eyes. My classic Spidey's eyes need to be squinty or at least the option headsculpt with squinty eyes. He would've been great with a camera accessory too.

Medicom and Mafex is the same brand it’s just different names. Just make sure it says marvel on the box. If you need a link to good one I can send you one

I prefer a darker blue. I currently have this figure in my pile of loot at BBTS. Still deciding if I should keep it. Not sure if it's significantly better than the amazing fantasy spidey or the RYV Spidey. Especially considering the difference in price point.

Q of the Day: I’ve always had a soft spot for the light blue. It reminds me of my early childhood when Spider-Man was just another colorful cartoon character, with no more weight attached to him than the average Warner Bros or Hanna-Barbera character. Sure he fought bad guys, but they were just robbing banks, not throwing his girlfriend off a bridge.

I bought the KO , disputed the charge , free toy, panel lined and tightened up , minor customization , touched up . Peter head was crap , but otherwise my favorite. This is cool, but should have had a 5oclock shadow Peter or something, to justify the $$$ and up charge from BBTS 😹

Honestly this figure is terrible. The wrists are super small and brittle. I broke it almost immediately. I’ll never buy another Mafex figure again. Complete junk.
