Mafia 3 is one of those frustrating games, because it is unique in the way it tells a story, is unabashedly upfront about portraying its era-getting history mostly correct-it just didn’t know how marry this with the gameplay loop, which is bruuuutal. The performances are also INCREDIBLE. Great video man, and definitely a prize trophy for your collection!
Play it with the dlcs to break up the monotony. That way the game was absolutely amazing and the late game felt interesting. After everything Lincoln has went through and getting to the last capo (Tommy) and mowing down the KKK.. Wild ride
For anyone reading this, downgrading the patch to 1.09 is definitely the most reliable way to ensure that trophies do not glitch. This method also enables you to switch your console on and off as many times as desired opposed to having to beat the game in one sitting, and hoping it does not crash.
@@SunOnYeet Yes, I can confirm it works for both the digital and physical versions of the game. I had downgraded the digital version myself. There is a very well detailed guide in text/video format which I had come across on Google by searching for “Mafia 3 downgrade guide”. The process is fairly straightforward, it involves downloading a software, and following the steps listed in order to downgrade the patch to version 1.09. It's been over a year since I had achieved the platinum but from what I can recall, I would recommend playing offline or disabling automatic updates after downgrading the patch. This eliminates the possibility of your console automatically downloading, and reverting back to the most recent patch.

This brought back some memories. I remember going for the plat on this one, but little old me never knew about the glitched trophies. So after 2 full runs I was missing the No Loose Ends trophy. The game is at 98% on the backlog of my unfinished platinums. I just didn't have the energy to play it. But now I will give it a shot again.
Keep putting ps4/5 in rest mode every few hours for an hour break let your console cool down and your console won't crash on no loose ends trophy, that was my last trophy for platinum, after 4 years and many crashes I got it in one sitting using rest mode a few weeks back, I feel your pain bro it's a hassle 😂 there's a good guide on Reddit, look it up on Google, it's no loose ends fix, tells you what route too take and to limit console crashes, that's the only thing that worked for me using the Reddit guide 👍
@@mrhali91939 just pause or go to map and put console in rest mode bro, don't exit the game, then when you restart your console it will be right where you put it in rest mode, good luck it's a fkn pain 😂 👍

7:28 This is a new bug introduced with the Definitive Edition, unfortunately. For anyone who experiences this: while a simple checkpoint reload fixes it, you can also try to navigate Lincoln to a wardrobe closet using the mini-map and interact with it as this will immediately fix the bug without having to reload.
If finding a Wardrobe is too difficult, or you happen to be closer to the outside, you can also try calling for Jackie the Arms Dealer. Can be a bit harder finding the sweet spot because Jackie *_NEVER PARKS HIS FUCKING TRUCK PROPERLY_* but it will also have the same effect.

As somebody who got this Platimun Triophy fairly recently, mostly because I took a long break from the game due to the frustration of the random game crashes, so I fully understand the grind and time it took you to get it.
@@shawty2k3 Oh without a doubt the game is luck based, personally, I did my 2 playthroughs while playing offline, which makes the game a bit more stable, with the latest patch, and I assassins creed my way to the bosses as quicky as I could.
If I delete my save data and go offline start a new game then when I'm in can I go back online since I'm logged as offline? On my 11th attempt I watch this video on repeat just to feel relieved@@GJoSuE

@@itsstuddy I knew you will like it, often people says Mafia 3's gameplay is bad because they often mistake the bad mission structure to the gameplay loop. The game would work well if it was linear. The only mafia that has a structure pace correct, gameplay loop and better world interacting within the story is Mafia 2. But Mafia 3 design, world and setting are the best. Idk but it kinda feels like a rip off from Black ops 1.
Mafia 3 is probably my all-time favorite game and so I decided recently to clean up some trophies and get the platinum (I did) and I don't remember it being this broken before the definitive edition.
The fact that they never did fix the trophies just shows how little they care. I should have plat but I cba doing EVERYTHING AGAIN AND IN MULTIPLE PLAYTHROUGHS BECAUSE THEY DONT POP
I really enjoyed this game, but decided to ignore the trophies (I am both glad and happy that the game a) had collectibles and b) didn't have any reason to go after the collectibles). The performances and story are the best thing about this.
2 racket bosses left and the game crashed as soon as I entered the final district😢. Being at the mercy of the Random Game Crash Gods is what is most frustrating. Currently stuck at 53/56 trophies.
Huge congrats! I was goin for this and my game crashed MULTIPLE times in one playthrough so I gave up for the time being. It sucks cause this is my favorite entry of the series too.
@@shihabali237 It is actually my favorite as well and so underrated, people just like be nostalgia fans when literally mafia 3 has the greatest setting and smooth gameplay loop although the mission structure was bad, but at the very least the story was very intriguing and had some Black ops 1 style that made me love the game even more and also the characters are more compelling and mature. Even Vito is better in Mafia 3 than in 2, he grows up from being a character with no character development throughout the game to a character who gets sick of Marcano and tries kills them and has some of the greatest lines of Mafia 3. I know its buggy, but the whole story arc involving the war within itself whenever the character was the point of actually be a great story and also the performances were well delivered.
Congrats for the plat bro, well done! I platinumed Mafia 1 this month (my 103th platinum) and it refreshed my interest in playing again Mafia 3 which I have never played since 2018 because I had found it too repetitive and boring at the time. I had only played it a few hours and I didn't even know about the glitched trophies (I think). But the definitive edition looks so much better on my Ps5 than I remember it looking on my Ps4 Pro and the free dlc's is cool stuff and all! It's shame though they didn't fix these trophies, now I only have these last 6 bronzes missing...
From my memory, I am only a few achievements away from Platinum, mainly being the one where you kill enemies with their own Molotovs, killing the racket leaders (or whatever it was) and having only one "other leader" alive at the end of the game, that last one is hardest because I don't wanna kill Burke
Molotovs is super easy, just reload checkpoint in Baka's camp The killing all racket leaders is the Hardest Bruh, only One leader Alive is super easy. Getting attached to a piece of 💩 like Burke is just bad. Even for Vito i can feel sorry

Your not the only one. I'm stuck just with one more trophy for killing all racket bosses. Trying to do it in one playthrough without switching the console off but always ran into the dreaded the console experienced a problem. I can't remember if I did manage to do it but it didn't pop up however I think likely that's due to putting my ps4 in rest mode
@@zaink7037 Last week I decided to go back and finish the game so I decided to start going for the killing all racket boss achievement, I managed to get some achievements I've missed and thought I was making progress, but as soon as I got to the last racket boss, the achievement didn't showed up even after following the guide on PSNProfile. What made things worse was when my friend told me I have to get it while having my playstation on for hours, not letting it turn off at all. Got so pissed for wasting 22 hours and on a 4th gameplay
@@zaink7037 putting console in rest mode is the only fix got my platinum by using rest mode, or you got too do it in 9hr sit through and hope it don't crash, at least when you go in rest mode your console cools down to restrict the crash, this is on ps5 aswell believe it or not, this game when it's about to crash melts console 😂 you can tell when it's going to crash, it gets jittery and slow, cars start crashing into each other etc, your fan speeds up then error screen pops up lol it's one hassle but doable 👍
honestly mafia 3 had the potential to be the greatest of the mafia games, great graphics,documentary style of the life of lincoln clay,fantastic character with a fantastic backstory, but it was buggy, doesn't have the best pc optomization and missions got repetitive
I did this plat. 7 playthroughs. I haven't watched your video yet, but I'm sorta hoping you experience the same glitched trophies I came across (kill all racket bosses/recruit all racket bosses being the worst of them), just so I can watch you experience the pain I went through (brutal takedowns and having a certain amount of money were also glitched, but not as annoying). My final two playthroughs I did on the same night with a case of beer. I honestly think you could do the plat in about 15 hours, bc I beat the game in about 5.5/6 hours each way through my last two playthroughs. But I haven't come across a single person who's had an easy time getting the plat. Speedrunning the platinum in 15-20 hours is 100% doable, but realistically if you're actually trying to enjoy the game and it didn't have any glitches it would probably be about the estimated 40. If anyone else is doing this, I recommend using silenced weapons whenever possible. Stealth is much faster if you know understand the AI
In Mafia III, the only two racket bosses you cannot flip are Chester Moreau and Merle Jackson no matter how many junction boxes you hook up with wiretapping devices.

You game crashed and you still were able to get the family trophy which I'm definetly unstable for trying it. Goddang, seriously bro HOW. EVERYSINGLE trophy for me was easy once I learned how to minimize my time on the game, but family is the only one that still impossible to me to get it.
Now I am scared about going for all three games. I recently got into trophy hunting and I platinumed Mafia 1 after seeing your video on it and I plan on going for Mafia 2 after I am done platinuming GhostWire:Tokyo. Here’s a sad fact. The platinum trophy in MAFIA 3 is *still* obtainable. I unlocked mine in August 2024. Here’s a few tips from what I gathered from my.. stupid.. 400hrs *wasted* in this well optimized not-glitching game at all 🙄 Please note that the best way to play the game is of course on the latest latch which is 1.12 1. The following trophies ($500k, The New Boss, Family, No Loose Ends, Can’t Trust A Rat, Combat Specialist, Shh shh, and Closed Casket) must be done in one session. Meaning, you can’t turn off your console, set it in sleep mode, or even close the game/application. *at all* In order to get them, pray god that the game doesn’t bug/crash in the middle of your progression. Because whenever you close the game or turn off your console, the in-game internal counter (somehow in a stupid way) resets. For example; for the $500k trophy it doesn’t matter if u have it in your pocket or stored in bank) you get $400k. Closed the game, and got another $100k. You literally got $500k yes but, when you closed the game when you got $400k the counter got reset and now, the game *thinks* that you just earned $100k. Cool feature huh? 2. When you go for the Family trophy it doesn’t matter who you do first. I did Burke first bcz he kept crashing my game for some reason, then Vito, and Cassandra. Again, pray god that the game doesn’t crash and never close the game or turn off your console. Other than that. All trophies should be acquired easily. A tip for when the camera freezes and zooms out after you control a district, try to get out of the office you’re in to the street, and call the guy with the orange van who has supplies and ammunition. Then go to the van and hold Square like you’re trying to buy something and then leave. This trick will make the camera normal again. Or, if you can’t get outside and smh u were able to use the closet in the building to change your outfit, then it’ll do the job just fine
This was my first mafia, I only got it because it was apart of some deal with the PlayStation plus thing going on, and I gotta say I really liked playing this game, and the side stories were great too.
The last update to 1.12 broke the tracking and it's never been fixed even though thousands have sent tickets and they know about it, alot of people downgraded to patch 1.09 there was no bugs on that patch, but platinum is doable 👍
Been trying to platinum this game myself the past week or so, only got four trophies left and some dlc ones but after having spent so much time on this and many many runs thanks to crashes and all I gave up well done on pulling though and getting it done 👏
The story was good, the acting was FANTASTIC and the gameplay was decent, the shooting was fun but the AI was just dumb af and the missions were way too repetitive, could've easily be one of the best games if they changed some stuff but all though good game and i recommend playing it but don't bother with the platinum, i completed the game 4 times and still didn't get it
At first I was not sure what you were on about these achievements/trophies being buggy, as I remember playing the game more or less when it came out on Xbox One S and having almost no trouble in unlocking any achievement because of a bug. After this video, I searched these glitched trophies online and found out what happened with the definitive edition patch (which gave everyone the DLCs for free, luckily no glitched trophies there it seems). It's really shameful of them to not even take the time to fix this while they could. Although I wonder, I've seen people explain a method to "downgrade" the game to an older patch (1.09) which made it possible to get these trophies without having to do it in one go, but it requires some sort of program to pull it off. Have you tried doing it this way, rather than potentially waste all your efforts due to a crash? Assuming it's possible on Ps5 of course. Anyways, major congrats! I don't know if I would have had the courage to leave my console on (even in rest mode) for such a long time, hoping for the game to be stable 😅
I was going for this platinum, until 2 of my trophies glitched out.. the one for maxing out the loyalty for all 3 characters and the one for flipping all racket bosses.. I did both of those and the trophy never popped up. And I refuse to play the game for a 3rd time so 🤣
@@Momo13momo330 if you do it, here’s a tip I heard that helps. 1: play the game with your WiFi off 2: don’t close the application. If you need to leave, pause the game and come back to it later. They was saying if you close the application, your progress towards some trophies reset , making it impossible to earn at certain points of the game
Got 99% of the way through this game after 2 playthrough and I had to flip all bosses, took me an additional 2 tries to realise the trophy was bugged and couldn't get back to doing it and restarting absolutely everything
At least RDR2's platinum takes it long because of its content, Mafia 3 is a whole another story. It is 15 hours trophy list trapped behind god knows how many attempts and hours you would get it with luck, I've been trying since feb 2021 and there is only one missing after more than 20 attempts.
I'm going for this one at the moment, and the game crashed on me in the middle of my second playthrough... During my first Kill playthrough I wasn't aware of the glitch, so it didn't register. Such a shame for an otherwise fantastic storytelling game.
I tried for the Platinum, literally 2 trophies that I can't complete. Family and The new Boss. I know I have to do it in a playthrough without turning the ps5 off but one tiny little problem, I live in Latin America, where the electricity can randomly go off even if you paid it.
Your so lucky, i did 3 playthroughs and never got the trophies for recruiting 16 racket bosses and killing all the racket bosses, they're the last 2 trophies i need for the platinum trophy 😭
2:40 I know how you feel like, I feel like there is tons of difficults games to plat like the souls (on which I never did but I heard it was difficult), then RDR2 (i have) that it takes so long but also kinda excusable for being an open world game on that category of being a very well structured game with tons of content. But Mafia 3, I just can't get beyond family trophy.
Studdy in my last comment I said to play an easy game if you feel like playing some try some Lego games.My personal favs are Lego Pirates and Lego Batman 2.Both are 20h long with 2/10 and 3/10 difficulty good games for some laughs and to turn of your brain.

Got this Plat during Lockdown in 2020 after a lot of trial and error! Remember praying my PS4 wouldn't overheat or anything just so I wouldn't have to start right back at the beginning. Still to this day my rarest Platinum according to PSN, 0.3%
Been playing it recently we didn’t realize what we had when it came out I don’t think a game like this can be made in America anymore with all the progressive crap no more N words no more klu klux dudes no 60’s usa setting with Vietnam vet Lincoln clay games won’t ever be the same mafia 2 still the best but this one was something different
Can't fix the bar glitch if you are replaying the game without deleting your file, so make sure you get the samson harrier achievement your first time around.
I loved this game I’ve played it like 4 times since it came out, and last time I got the plat and all the dlc trophies I hadn’t gotten. Only trophy I had an issue with was the only keeping one underboss alive as even though I favoured Vito the whole time one run a few years ago only Burke got angry and left but Cassandra stayed even though she only had her starting district but last time I played last year I got that and a few misc ones and got the plat and 100% loved the game a lot and it’s the only mafia game I have the plat for, want to go back and clean up the first 2 sometime though as I enjoyed those too
@@itsstuddy Mafia 2 has the most exhausting trophy list, those wanted posters were probably the most boring thing to do in this series. However, while I give the boredom to 2, Mafia 3 takes the cake when it comes to be the hardest. Mafia 3 trophies are so easy to do because it doesn't not require skills at first glance, but when I noticed the trophies was glitched that's where the tables turned and having the Family trophy being the only one missing I quite quitted it because I couldn't stand it after 2 years and more than 20 attempts.
What I noticed was weird was that they made the dlcs free. So there doesnt seem like a point in getting the definitve editions when the dlcs are already free.
How did you update it? I'm missing the trophies without any loose ends. You're the boss, new heart, you're a rich man, but it says that if you close the game, the counter will reset.
you dont need it, just start the game over again.. Clay doesnt gain skill points or upgrades. And everything you gain from your team (Vito, Cass etc..) you would loss in new game+ as its related to story choices, same with the choice you make for Clay. New Game+ would be completely pointless in Mafia 3 and I can almost guarantee it never happens
My brotha, let me tell you....I decided to go back and clean up the achievements for the Definitive Edition on Steam and it might be one of the most exhausting, frustrating, and bugged out games I've ever played. The fact that you're fighting external forces like an unnecessary launcher and its correlated problems makes it 10x more frustrating (EA Buddy, I'm looking at you too). First and foremost: no NG+ Second: the 2k launcher is completely bugged, so any cumulative game-long achievements, or stat tracking achievements MUST be completed in one game session. This means, no exiting for the game to count the progress, and if the game crashes or bugs out for any reason, you can either go F-yourself and/or try another run. Third: the repetitive nature of the game loop becomes nothing but a colossal chore when you need to go back multiple times throughout significant portions of the game--especially to trigger story progress. Fourth: no save states. I can't believe a game of this size offers no manual save options. THE ONLY way to make this grind feasible is to work with community and SaveFile jump. Even with these amazing resources, it's still a hefty slog.

I played online. Flips in any order I wiretapped the WHOLE area, just to be sure. The last area (for flipping) I done the racist racket boss last as he cant be flipped, so he's a waste of time
@@ch3micalromanc369 I managed to get the new boss trophy but it crashed when doing Burke's missions tbf this was after a solid 12/13hrs I'm so annoyed, I only need family then it's just a straight up kill everyone playthrough
13:42 with me this happens in GTA 5 online GOW and Fifa it stopped when i had my PS5 standing upward since i layed it flat no more errors during game play last one was December 21 of last year
Took me 4 years to get platinum due to tracking bugs, but just kept ps5 in rest mode every 3-4 hrs then carry on, got my platinum at last a few weeks ago, what a hassle lol
buy a big magazine rifle and some zemis go to a police station let as many as you can go to the zemi then walk close to them they have to see you and start shooting at you then use the slow-mo and just take as many head shots as you can within 5 sec, and you should get it
