I get what you’re saying but Maggie lost a lot of family to zombies also. Back at the Farm zombie raid and her family that was inside the barn itself were all killed by zombies.

I have watched the video several times and it amazes me how real this Maggie scene is! Her reaction her screams the way she cried! Absolutely spectacular!
Moments like these is what made Maggie hard as stone, losing literally every person she held dear to her heart, Hershal (Dad), Beth (Sister) and then Glenn (Lover)
And Abraham, but to be fair, Negan suffered in that cell, possibly mocked through the window of the cell, and his hope was if he died, he would be with lucile, and rick deprived him of that, by doing the one thing he didnt account for, he thought the only outcome of their whole ordeal, was that if he won, things would return to normal, they would continue their work as always, if he lost, he would be killed and be reunited with lucile Neither of those things happened, meaning he had to think about what he did, and what could have been for potentially the rest of his life
Kind of goes to show you what they were doing with that ending. Saving negan was the right choice. Forgiveness trumps even when it’s the hardest fucking thing you have to do. Rick and Ellie both knew executing them wasn’t right. It doesn’t make it right. It doesn’t give them back. Like Rick said, we get to come back. Ellie and Rick weren’t too far gone, but they almost were. Forgiveness allows you to maintain that humanity that you still have, and that shit reflects onto everyone else. Look at negan today. Rick and Ellie’s decisions are incredibly mature and allows them to eventually find peace within themselves, as well as breaking a vicious cycle of revenge.

This is why I sorta dislike Rick. Nobody really killed Carl or Lori, Carl got bit and Lori died in child birth. So Rick doesn't really feel the pain what Maggie is going through. He's the type "if it's not happening to me, then oh well" of person.

Rick actually made the right choice here become negan was to gifted to be kill just how Rick fucked up when he killed Shane and everybody started to die in his group until Rick turn savage mode in season 5 and become like him and saved a lot of people in his group
I understand Maggie’s pain, but Rick sparing Negan is the most poetic and well written scene in the entire series. Fast forward, Negan killed Alpha and helped Darryl finish Beta. Negan helped Maggie attack the reapers and take them down. Was willing to sacrifice himself to save the group from the CW in the labor camp. I’d say Negan redeemed himself and deserved to live in peace.
Maggie is the most hurt woman in this film. She had to see her father die, see her sister die, and see her husband die tragically before her own eyes😢 Poor maggie

You have to understand that he did that for his son, and let's not act like what happened to them wasn't their own faults they hopped in a situation that literally had nothing to do with them. They got too cocky and paid the price. I love the characters that unfortunately lost their lives to this war or during, but there is always someone bigger and badder. And they found out the hard way.
Honestly she had this coming. She and glenn were inseparable and if one or the other was missing they would become a major problem for the group. Maggie hadn’t been listening to anyone and cares very very little about them when she decides has to look to for glenn.

I get why they made this choice and Rick's in universe reasoning, but if I were in this group, and I'd lost the people Negan killed I really don't know if I'd ever forgive Rick for lettin him live, and whenever they reunite I wanna see if Maggie is willing to forgive him.

Rick made the TOUGHEST CALL, which was fighting for peace. However, a lot of people didn't agree with his decision, which is why Rick got lost after the bridge explosion because others still held a grudge, which they could never see the bigger picture

Negan was protecting a community, granted in the wrongest ways. Had the Gov crossed a line that Negan did in anyway, the group wouldve butchered him

Glenn wouldn’t have wanted Negan to die. Glenn’s purpose was to help salvage civilization. That was what he wanted. Glenn was never a hurtful or hateful man. An eye for an eye doesn’t always work. Sometimes it just causes more chaos. Glenn knew that. That’s why Rick obeyed Glenn’s personality. I think that said a lot about the impact Glenn left on Rick. Rick correlated killing Negan with causing a more significant impact later on down the line. At what cost would it have provided if he took down Negan? I suspect another war. Rick knew that, Glenn knew that, but Maggie didn’t. The sparing of Negan led to the safety of Maggie’s son. There’s the eye for an eye.
In the comics it makes more sense. He keeps him alive to prove that they can function as a society, to rebuild something close to the world before the walkers and to keep him to see it all happen in jail
