That would permanently solidify in Hershel’s mind that the infection is demonic (I’d struggle to blame him after taking that thing on). I really hope they keep doing stuff like this, I want the WALKERS to be terrifying, not people. I don’t give a shit about the human enemies in the show.
Viruses mutate over time if something like the virus in the walking dead or from the last of us( which is a real virus and it can actually happen) they would mutate becoming smarter stronger a virus isn't shit to play around with
If you ever dive deep into the reality if a zombie outbreak would occur there’s two things that could realistically happen: First: mass majority of the virus would die off after the first year because the rate of infection would over source their food supply. You wouldn’t have zombies that live on, and on, an on. The ones who survived would already be held up somewhere with supplies with the knowledge that those do leave the camp that get infected, they kill yourself to save the others and the pain of turning. Thus after a few years, the virus would be dead and civilization would regain itself with the help of surviving scientist, chemist, and leaders. Second: This virus is more advance that the previous mention one and is a dormant virus and getting bitten is like being bitten by a Komodo dragon. The saliva is riddle with bacteria that their prey doesn’t die from loss of blood but that of infection. However it occurs, you turn once you die. Since this method has a far great chance of a steady food supply to feed to the virus, you would have the “kings” so to speak. The would be the evolution of the virus that has the ability to understand that they need to take care of its host. Similar to other virus we have seen in real life, one has the ability to knock out a work place where the other of the same family has the ability to knock out the world (look at COVID). The virus learns as it stays dormant so the kings generally occur after the host has killed so many other zombies, the virus family, so to seek survival it learns through the eyes of the living. So the zombies fought on year one would be vastly underwhelming in comparison to year 5. Both could happen together too. The first situation could have the virus evolve to be airborne like how we saw in last of us but it creates a dormant variant instead of being an immediate death sentence. Thus enacting the second one.
I pretty sure there was an episode of FTWD were there was a guy wearing full chainmail along with some WWl gear but in walking dead fashion he got bit on his arm or wrist I think
Dont even have to be chainmail, hardened boiled leather will protect you from the bite force of a human 100%, plus it doesnt raddle and gives away your position every time you take a step. (seriously wear chainmail or plate armor and you can forget all about stealth)
Honestly, as much as I like the Whisperer arc, there's a greater issue now that it exists. Everyone now knows all it takes is dried out walker face skin to become unrecognizable to zombies. You can completely avoid encounters like this by just wearing a simple mask, yet no one does. I mean, it's not the most fashionable thing in the world, but for something so simple that can keep you a lot safer with effectively zero trade-off, it's odd. If I wasn't constantly wearing one, I'd at least have it in my pocket or something.
@@Vakaria-playsthe thing about chainmail and plated armor, is that they weren’t even that Loud back in the medieval times, they just made a lil silent noise.

Literally identical bro 😭😭 but also if you want a big ol' zombie, what else are you going to do, hard to be new when there isn't anything new to think of
I mean, yeah. TWD doesn’t have evolved or unique Walkers for the most part. They’re very simple zombies. They can only do so much to make them different than your average walker.
I like how the show is getting more resident evil and it makes sense the most populated city in America (I think idk) would have the best chances of having the most variant walkers
Just about the most populated, the East Coast in general is denser than the rest of the country aside from California, but the east coast is also home to TONS of CDC testing grounds and whatnot where they test certain viruses and bacteria. There’s a reason Fort Meade has as much security if not more than Peterson SFB
I know this is so far back. But her bench would be like 120 to 135lbs because zombies lost the weight they used to have. So, at that point of decomposition, the body would be around 20 to 30 lbs. There's 2.75 full bodied zombies (two weighing 30lbs and .75 weighing around 18lbs) then there's 2 that peeled out which are about 10ish lbs each. That means the full weight of the zombie king is 98lbs to 115 lbs. Which is still insane because she held it up with 1 hand most of the time. (This is probably not the true weight. It depends on many factors with how decomposed they are).
@@AlexG-sr6dc Damn, good answer. I was just gonna answer with "adrenaline is a hell of a drug." Put those two answers together, and yeah, Maggie'd be able to do this.
If you look at the cast in season 1 compared to now you'll notice they have lost their soft round faces and bodies in favour of leaner body mass, 15 years fighting for your life will make you extremely fit and strong.
Rat king is scarier (can tear you in half, like if Maggie was against that she’d be dead already), but the walker king is just outright disgusting, that popping out head shit was creepy as fuck
@@niksonrex88yes thats why the writing was bad to begin with. It would have been very hard beating this thing 1v1 with nothing but a knife but on top of that they thought her being stuck and laying on the floor, unable to move while still winning the fight would be even more realistic. Xd
@@TonyBustaronieh feel like it would’ve been more terrible writing to have her die to that. Could’ve found a smarter way for her to take out the thing tho
@@zachrohler1047 of course it isn’t you silly goose, because if this was the real world, those bodies would have decomposed a LOOOONG time ago. But the virus that they’re infected with makes their bodies melt instead of being broken down into carbon dioxide
@@medicodyssey which is seriously ironic since actual fire is both powerful and underrated in this show. Hordes could be easily stalled to the ground with patience and a few molotovs. But twd has never been about good ideas..
@@srbflorin1804 yeah, but there would be no story if the military just puts a loud ass ghetto blaster into a pit and wait until it fills up and drop napalm on it ...the apocalypse would end within days😅
Ngl The heads tearing through its flesh to snap at Maggie creeped me tf out. Thing was scary and disgusting as hell. The whole episode was amazing too. The moral ambiguity as well as the grey nuance between Maggie and Negan has been executed perfectly episode after episode.
Nooooot that creative. Have you ever played The Last of Us Part II? Edit: Search for TLOU 2 rat king. Game was released in 2020. PS: rat king is a real thing among rats that live too much time close to one another
Maggie: "Go! Go!" Friend: "ok, good luck!" Maggie: "wait! I didn't think you'd actually leave me! Come back!" I mean seriously, who just runs out on their friend like that. 😂
Either the walkers decomposed and combined over the course of 15 years which I think in Dead City is how far it is into the apocalypse, or some psychopath fused them together, could of been the Croat, who knows
With the extra body parts sticking out all over the place it kind of reminds me a little bit of resident evil 2 for playstation 1 when the boss had These eyeballs that pop out of him all over the place especially the huge one that was his main eye This is his more evolved child that he had
The only guy that will never turn is the guy in space in fear the walking dead he wasn't there when it happened. Although all alone when he died up there he didn't turn ans when he did or dose crash to earth unless his body is still intact enough he wouldn't turn. Being the last normal death anyone could have. Unless you got tossed into orbit before the out brake you will get have it. Also something like the walker king would have to have been around a very long time. That would be a very scary thing to see.
Rat Kings in reality are just as twisted, rats who huddle for warmth in winter sometimes end up getting their tails and claws intertwined. On rare occasions these tails knot together and attempts by the rats to separate make it worse adding tension, blood and other fluids to the mix. The mass ends up being moved by the strongest members with the weakest often being dragged or even dying adding more horror to the mass. In short "Damn nature you scary!"
The amount of situations that spawn out of “oh no I’m stuck in a situation that I’m usually not stuck in” or “oh no this Walker that’s made up of mostly bones has gained a strength stat boost and I conveniently lost my footing and will proceed to get tripped and overwhelmed in a struggle to make it out”. It takes away any actual tension or horror. The idea and practical effects of the extra heads and shit coming out was cool. But knowing that there’s no real reason for her to be stuck just sets this up to be like any other encounter. If instead those situations came rarely and set up properly where characters get overwhelmed due to exhaustion, or because it’s an odd encounter like this, maybe this show would have stakes again.
This happens often. Many morbidly obese people, or people suffering from mental issues have been known to fuse with their surroundings after not moving for years. I know of 2 legitimate cases with couches and toilets. Not hard to believe something like this could happen.
