5x G120 static waste compactors and 2x G140 pre-crush compactors were installed at Magherafelt Recycling Centre as part of a £1.7 million investment at the site.
Two of the G120 compactors were fitted with a household bin lift allowing standard wheelie bins to be rolled up to the compactor where the bin lift quickly and safely lifts the bin and empties it into the compactor. These compactors also have sliding door hoppers to allow the manual depositing of waste into the compactor.
The G140 pre-crush compactors feature walk-on platforms with sliding door hoppers, these pre crush compactors are designed to work with bulky waste such as wood or garden clippings, the pre-crush feature ensures waste is crushed before it enters the container allowing significantly more waste to be pushed into the container.
All of these compactors feature walk-on-deck loading with handrail integration, this makes the site a lot easier for the public to use the site as they can drive close to the compactors and walk right up to them with the waste they have to deal with.
