It's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax... and stop trying to hold on to it. And then it flows through me like rain, and I can't feel anything but gratitude... for every single moment... --American Beauty
A simple piece of fabric, silk sheet, moving freely against the pushing air, with no form of life whatsoever is making this random movement with such beauty and harmony, made me realise that IT has more life in it than some of us people.
Am i the only one out here, recognizing the soundtrack of American beauty? at this particular moment of the film where the 3-rd protagonist of the film show to the daughter of Kevin spacey ( brilliant acting by the way ) his thought of the whole beauty of the world in a empty bag dancing in the wind? i was mesmerized at that scene of the film, and now, damn...
I'm glad that someone articulated this beauty. I notice things like bags or debris getting blown around by the wind tunnels created by New York City streets and high towering buildings and often think that it would be nice to extend the moment in some accurate way... this does that.
This is beautiful in many ways. From an artistic standpoint with the lighting and the allusion to fire with the color of the sheet, and from an engineering standpoint with creating a near-perfect vortex.
Thank you for your wonderful inspiration and creativity! Thank you for the extraordinary images, the wonderful background of the music and for allowing us to watch the essence of beauty, for a short period of time. Our gratitude for providing us emotions of all types, for reaching the unreachable star but still feeling relaxed and in peace. Thank you so much!
it amazes me that I can go through my day worrying about money issues getting pist off at political crap hating the other drivers and dealing with every little stupid thing life can throw at you then after a long day of working I stumble across a simple video like this and all of it goes away I thought of nothing but what the next move of that fabric was gonna look like some times the most simple and brief of things can change the outlook and course of an entire day thank you for this video
there's so much beauty in such a simple thing. You could sculpt a lovely statue, or paint something lovely, but it's easy to forget how easy it is to make something beautiful.
imagine I'm david attenborough, "stoners from far reaches of the globe flock to this particular channel to sit, and merely contemplate life, stone beyond belief. A truly accustomed stoner could sit here for days, sharing stories with his co-stoners about the meaning of life and how the carpet resembles humanity floating through space with no real point or justification. For years researchers has sought after a video which such depth and clarity, and alas, we have stumbled across one, marvellous"
I am a Portuguese Language student at the Federal University of Paraíba, here in Brazil. a friend from the same course suggested to me this wonderful hovering over the wind, which for me was just an incorp. I marveled at the movements that some being made appear on the fabric. Pretty pretty pretty...
I saw this at AmaLuna the other night (Circue Du Soleil) and it was mesmerizing. I thought for sure there head to have been strings involved, but now I can see that there weren't.
my goodness , i could watch beauty like that for hours!!! and yes it's good to take a moment out of your bizzy day to reflect with such beauty and intrigue
In the Flow, Sight and Sound of nature... Roots inspiration for everything... One thing leads to another... Fabric was born... Music was Born... Dance was born...
Your world must be incredibly boring. I can't help but picture a beautiful woman dancing under a spotlight, face aglow - beaming with the happiness brought on by her art. It just makes me feel warm, like many things are possible.
Who says things have to be complicated in order to be impressive? sure, the human body impresses me way more than a piece of fabric blown around by a couple of fans, but i can still appreciate the beaty that lies in such a small and simple thing.
oh i see! the fans keep the carpet in the exact same spot the whole time by each having the same speed and push out the same amount of air. its really very nice to watch. look at it at the right angle and you see it for what it is. the fans keep the beauty of the carpet constraint until the end of time...the carpet cannot escape because its fans wont let go...
un magnifique fluide hypnotisant....de la poésie et de la douceur. Merci pour "la France a un incroyable talent 2012". et très belle musique de sarah McLachlan. :)
..That's the day I realized that there was this entire life behind things, and this incredibly benevolent force that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in.
its used in the film American Beauty which actually makes me appreciate this video a lot more assuming that the creator of it was inspired by the plastic bag scene where Ricky was explaining why the plastic bag floating around in the wind was the most beautiful thing he's ever filmed
I do encourage you to watch the whole video full screen. It seems basic at first, but some of the shapes and figures it makes is really pretty fricking awesome, and just cool to watch.
You need to remember sometimes that there is so much beauty in the world like this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever
I wonder If you played this music while filming the fabric... I believe this is the best song for this project. It has everything in it. Life, death, beginnings, endings, love, happiness, sorrow... the dance of the fabric says the same things.
i think its just as simple as it looks,8 fans placed equidistant on a circle, the force of incoming air-waves to the center after collision will look for a way to release pressure, there's a lot of space between the fans but when the waves meet at center, the incidence lines are pretty close & have very little space to escape, as by laws of physics any pressure will take the most easier route to release itself, in this case UP, which is what i THINK is holding the light "chiffon" like fabric
In this case, it's a figure of speech. It's definitely a magical thing to watch, and I'm pretty sure nobody thought it was a carpet. Just enjoy the wonder that is before you.
