They should fire the art director for trying to turn Mtg's art into a chewed commercial rubbish. Good God, if I want that I'll play Hearthstone which is actually well programmed.
I actually just pulled one from a booster pack yesterday! You can feel the gold lining and everything. I wasn't sure how rare it was but it's damn cool
Only a few minutes in, but I got to say, you guys are killing it setting up these planes with their themes. Real sweet to watch Magic venture into these different eras of humanity and bringing that Magic-flavoured twist to all of them. Long live Magic! Been playing since Tempest when I was about 12 and been coming back with joy :)
Shout out to the speakeasy costumes, they're on point. I love this theme and can't wait to see what a mob shootout with wizards mixed in would look like.
Considering the reveal of the red Preator right at the end, it’ll probably come when we’ve seen all of them (green being in kaldheim and blue with kamigawa) so probably in like 3 expansions? Maybe 2 if the last one is in said phyrexian expansion
Throw in alliance as well. have a creature with Alliance on the board, Blitz another creature out, triggering Alliance, then sacrifice the Blitz creature with Casuality.
@@gyorgyor7765 Just went to a prerelease yesterday, and used Blitz together with Alliance (I only got 1 Casualty card, and I didn't use it). Yeah, it was pretty strong
2 or 3 versions of cards that matter are cool, but it sounds like we're getting multiple variants of multiple cards in this set, just for "booster fun", which reduces the chances of getting any specific card, especially non-booster fun treatment cards...
Ok, going to read the story so I understand it better. Because the ”angels are strong” argument doesnt work for me. This because I assume these were the old phyrexians which managed to basically devour a whole plane of angels and an angel planeswalker (Serra).
It seems like there's some secret plainswalkers, after all tezzeret is on new cappena so he's definitely getting a card. Hopefully they have some sort of callback to davriel
I love the way you showing us the new sets, It's very entertaining - It feels like I want to play magic. Love the whole backstory - you are going in the right direction wizards, that's what the people want! :D
The Hideaway lands actually got a Secret Lair recently that demonstrated the upcoming changes to Hideaway, so we have known for a little while it was coming back without that effect, just not when it would happen.
36:13 Now hold yer horses there. This mean we're gonna get a different aesthetic in, say, Europe? Sign me up, can't wait to see what you got in the game store for us.
YESSSSSS OMG THEY DID IT !!! ANOTHER PIECE FOR SELESNYA FESTIVAL, NOW YOU CAN PLAY NEW ELSPETH, AO THE DAWN SKY AND THE WANDERER ALL IN IT 🕺🕺🕺 AND THIS GOES IN ABZAN FESTIVAL AND ORZHOV SOUL SISTERS CALL
The first song is Midside Notes by Martin Landström. Second song is It’s All for Love by Wendy Marcini. A Caper Story by Martin Landström is the third song. I'm using the chrome extension AHA Music, it tries to identify songs playing in your browser.
that being said i found him comical and his personality fit in IHYD. i hated him in this. Every time they do one of these I love it cuz they play a character/role that fits the theme of the set. they went heavy for the vampire crimson vow one nad very mobby for this. That being said. Joe was just being himself. which kinda defeats the purpose of the whole video design production
@@SlowDaddie Some months ago Lynch and Joe split ways because of some toxic behaviour while engaging with the community from Joe. Basically pub stomping, name calling and not taking criticism well. Later it turned out that Lynch is nice to the community, but bad at consent and, most of all, dealing with crysis situations. He tried to cancel an actress that worked with him after she exposed his non consented publication of nudity, and his first approach was name calling, which was a bummer. A lovely couple. I liked them.
This set will click with some people I'm sure (as some past sets have for me), but this 1920's magic-punk gangster vibe just isn't for me. Love seeing a new Elspeth and will assuredly buy at least 2 singles of her, but that might be all I get from this. I'll need to see more spoilers and EDH deck previews, but so far this just isn't my thing.
@@ChairmanMeow1 Anything's possible, so we'll see. I'm a big theme person though (I make my edh decks based on tribes and themes moreso than what's "good"... like, if a card is great but isn't on-theme for the deck, I won't include it at all). So, the mono-white halo fountain they showed is amazing for my Selesnya deck or my mono-white deck, but I hate the theme of it so I'm not sure I'd even want to use it.
Totally agree. This set does nothing for me. Doesn’t feel right. Feels off. Nothing specific. Just visceral. Hope all who dig in have a blast. Pass from me.
@Celtic Spike- 7 years hmmm.. you might have missed a legend rule and combat damage assignment change. And as a commenter above mentioned, sagas are prob the biggest new mechanic along with vehicles. Obviously there’s new small mechanics each set but I’d say those are the big ones. Welcome back!
The story is good but not quite the same level as preWar story for one thing Ob nixilis is completely wasted here and he was amazing in battle for zendikar also there is a big plot hole in the explanation of what happened to the angels and demons because they completely forgot to explain what happened to the demons
The demons? Well obviously after backstabbing the angels they....left? Like, the family bosses seem to be demons, but doesn't feel like they're the same ones. Dunno. As to your first point, I kinda feel like they're afraid to do sets without known characters, so you end up with an awkward weekend where they all met up in New Capenna without doing much. I'd say Urabrask was even more wasted!
elspeth was born as a slave and lived as a soldier, so I hope how out of her element she is and how culture shocked she is is reflected in the story properly same with vivien
