this song was on my Europe trip playlist, and just when we were going to land in Paris this song played. It was a magical moment I got chills and almost cried hahaha
2014: Paris the city of Love 2020: Paris the city of Corona Magic man enters: don't worry, I'll freeze the castle, lake, city and more Bill Gates enters: okay, then meanwhile I"ll find a solution for the coronavirus. I have been thinking about viruses since Windows 95
This song makes me wanna cry, cuz it reminds me of 6 yrs ago when I was a freshman in highschool, walking home alone and feeling incredible when I heard this song
Magic Man defined a movement in many ears and in many hearts. Play any track from this ineffable album one is so easily taken back to a time and a feeling impossible to forget. These tracks were a guiding sound in that special time of my life in true love. They provided me joy, inspiration and an understanding of the value of togetherness. That time is gone and so much else. This remark is a tribute to those wondrous days which brought us here. Farewell Magic Man, music that was truly that - magic.
This song makes me cry and scream of happiness at the same time. Swear, my body all of a sudden gets this energy, and I feel like I must go out and do something.
1:42 - 2:01 I just freaking love that musical execution, the melody, the tone, the instrumental that redirects the ears & draws them into a sweet dream. A paradise. A paris. That part made me fall in love with this song.
I think is such an incredibly beautiful and sad song. I interpret it as a guy who's reminiscing about a girl he fucked over, maybe a first serious relationship, and he feels sorry about it, but he doesn't miss her. When he first ended things with her, he was very upset and didn't see how he was going to get through it, but as time went on, he felt okay and eventually moved on from her and put her memory in the closet, or "I put you in the past". Maybe it was the type of relationship that was dragged on and should have ended way earlier, but they just continued and overlooked a lot of things about each other, hence the "you know I held on too much". This girl was a different part of his life, and he's never gonna go back, but the only thing he regrets is the way he ended it with her, because he knows he hurt her deeply. But my favorite lyrics are: "Oh and now darling, all that shit is behind us You never have to wonder You never have to ask". I think this is him saying to her: "Don't ever wonder if we made a mistake by ending it with each other, because it was dead. It would have never worked out between us. It's behind both of us." Maybe sometimes he wishes that things could have worked out differently, the fantasy that always overcomes him from time to time, but it's always just that: a fantasy. And he's even learning to forget about that, or "I just need a rest", final closure between him and this girl. Him leaving her at the station was probably the awful breakup he gave to her, watching her "fade away". He probably said some hurtful things that he didn't mean. He just didn't know how to leave her. But he can never forget her, because that was his first serious relationship, so he's telling her "listen to the way I cannot forget a single day I Spent roaming all around the room with you". Her memory and their relationship will always forever be ingrained inside his mind, because he did love her at one point, but that's it. It's over now. Beautiful and heartbreaking song.
i really do think this song is special. i’ve yet to see another comment section quite like this. everyone here seems to come back to this song. it means something to them and puts them into an indescribable mood. at least, that’s been my experience.
Saw them in the fall of 2013 when they opened for walk the moon and I enjoyed their set so much better then the headliner. Shame they were gone within 3 years but we got some timeless jams to listen to forever
this band is absolutely amazing live! Saw them in Chicago July 25th at the Panic! at the Disco concert along with Walk the Moon and P!ATD. AMAZING PERFORMANCE FROM ALL THREE GROUPS!
I can not explain what I feel when I hear this song, it is a joy, a sense of freedom.I Love, I listen every day not feeling sick ever. And I'm sticking when coming to Brazil for me to go in you show. ♥
Nadine E Regardless of what it was made to mean, art is about interpretation. This video can be seen in any number of ways. Personally I see it as every person having a 'voice' or kinda like... A default state of mind; how they perceive life. I feel like this video does this by portraying the basic groups of 'voice' that exist. The large group that loses their heads are a religious 'voice'. I feel like this portrays how this large voice is full of followers, and they easily lose their own way of thinking to the way of the group. The ones in the boxes, are constantly changing their 'voice' usually to match the 'voice of those around them. The pairs of two doing stretches and gymnastics represent a codependent 'voice'; one that finds another similar voice to rely on, but they have more than one pair to show that not all of these voices can work together. Those group doing ballet are those with a 'voice' of passion, and that give their whole body into what they care about. and then there are two separate independent voices: the girl that is dancing in the pale dress, and the lead singer. The girl has a strong voice with a unique view and a strong will not to changer her voice. But the lead singer shows that he is strong by himself, but eventually the isolation begins to eat away at him. Sorry for the rant, I just really like this video :P And if I missed one you are curious about it was probably on accident so lemme know.
During my sophomore year of college, I broke up with my girlfriend who was french. She was from Paris. Realizing that was stupid, I went back after her and she took me back. 2 years later, I proposed in Paris at the Eiffel Tower. This song is literally my relationship.
How did I miss these guys for so long. This style, this aesthetic... I was looking for something just like this in 2014 and I didn’t even realize it was under my nose the whole time 😭
I know music very very well, and I know this song is brilliant, I go back to it all the time, it is timeless, it is probably one of the most perfect songs out there.
I've loved this song for years upon years now and I always find myself coming back to it. I've never been able to find a song that evokes the feeling that this song creates, and I'll never find a song to replace my all time number one, Paris
Mr_Tuxedo this song is new to me..had my usual songs playing as I fell asleep. Seen this song hit play and knew this one was legit. The girl in this band/video is hella cute...

I just rediscovered this song on Spotify and was like how can I sing along to this, then I remembered listening to this a lot a few years ago, probably on SoundCloud or some playlist. but I can't remember french verb conjugations after studying for a decade...
I used to love this song in my early teens! It brings back so many positive memories! The singer was my gay awakening lol. Such an underrated track. I’m glad we all share these happy memories over this song :)
I've been getting to remember the name of the artist for about a year now. I had no way of finding out.i just remembered the one song Catherine said she liked alot. I don't talk to Catherine anymore. I hope you're still alive. Life is cruel we'll make it
@@csls11 It would work with mine 😭 I’m still stuck in my childhood hipster era. I was like 12 when this video was released but I sadly didn’t discover it until like 2-3 years after. Sad to hear that
@@csls11that’s not really true at all, I’m sure they’ve all developed their musical tastes since 2014 and they would come together to create something with a new sound that resonated with todays crowd.
They put on a flawless performance live! I had no idea who they were before going to this concert, but by the time they finished I was obsessed with their sound. One of my favorite bands now
I love this song so much!! It such a beautiful song!! Im so sad that the band is no longer together and they wont produce more music :,( I love this band a lot
