David Regal is one of my favorite magicians and creators. I had his original set and when he came out with the deluxe set which added an option for a silver ring, I enquired if he would sell just the bonus ring (and Koran gimmick) to previous buyers of the original set. He kindly agreed to do so. Every interaction I have had with him has been wonderful. I hope I get to meet him in person some day. I 100% agree Mr. Regal is a "legacy" magician. High quality props. Got this trick given to me as a Christmas gift. Very nice set. Training is good as well from David. Always pleased with items from him.
I heard a magician saying that having to get someone to give you the plant ring is a lot to ask. Honestly I dont think it is. I would just tell the person that there is a minor possibility the rings could get truly permanently stuck so IF you have to cut any of the rings you would prefer it to be your own. Hell you dont even have to preshow. Just hand out the non gaff ring for examining after taking it off your finger. Then when you get it back make the switch to the gaff ring. Easy peasy.
These gaffs are so much nicer than mine, which was only one ring, (and the pencil). My favorite part of the routine is when you show all 4 rings, it just tickled me every time I did it. This will take you a while to get comfortable with, but it's well worth the effort. I'm told Kreskin used to open with this.
This, in my opinion, is THE BEST LINKING FINGER ROUTINE ever!!! And the quality of the rings are superb. But, again, the routine and the handling for me was worth the money.!!
You really can't go wrong with David Regal. I've owned this set (linking ring project) for many years now, and it is amazing. When that last ring drops off the other one, you WILL have mouths drop open. The biggest hurdle is being brave enough to perform by borrowing the three rings. Just do what David says and you will be fine. It really is a lot of fun to perform this, knowing what you're getting away with.
