Magic Ring for PLUSH yarn (or Magic Circle) 

I could honestly cry right now. I just ripped my yarn 5 times in a row for my plush, felt like such a waste of money and time and the technique I use works on normal yarn but it just absolutely destroys my plush yarn. This worked first time no hassle. Thank you so much

Is anyone else having trouble trying to figure out where to put the hook in? 🥲

For all the other struggle bugs out there: You make a chain of 3, then start with the starting loop. You keep going back into that starting loop for each step. Essentially, you're trying to create a braid on the outside, which is really hard to see because fluffy yarn. If you're ending up with a ball, try to loosen your grip and make sure that you're pulling your loops to the outside rim. At least that's my guess and what I found seems to be the proper way to do it.

Yes, I’ve tried many times. I finally went to my local knit shop and got a mini lesson. First, the chunky yarn is difficult to see to count, the MC takes practice practice to achieve unless your a crochet person to begin with. I can’t see the needle size and so I’m not sure if she is following the recommended needle size as Amigurumi takes a few sizes smaller. I couldn’t see the stitches to count and my tension was uneven! BUT IM NOT GIVING UP YET. practice. I’m going to make a frog by the end of 2023. Lol

I can't get it with the velvet yarn! I wanted to make your frog with velvet yarn, but it's not working :( I went down a hook size or two since it's amigurumi, but should I just go with the recommended hook size since it's velvet yarn?

My yarn was a little thicker so I got a 5 MM hook and it was perfect (my yarn didn't come with a label to say what hook size works with it so I had to guess)

Hi do you mind giving tips on how to not lose the first chain's opening?

i’m very confused, i’m doing everything right i believe. I have the right crochet hook and the exact same yarn but when i go to pull the loop through the other, the crochet hook doesn’t fit through and it’s very difficult to pull through. and yes, i make sure the hook is facing downwards. can anybody help me?

Oh, one more comment. When you finish the MC and increase to 12 sts. in the ring, I finally noticed that your are going counter clockwise, inside to outside the project. Wrong side stitches are on the outside, you want to flip the direction so flip so tail of magic ring is on the inside of project which means you are now crocheting clockwise. I don’t know how to explain it please Check out, The Crochet Guru. I love the crochet patterns from this lady, it’s just I needed extra help!
