Another good thing about antron yarn, you can cut it up into short segments and use it for dubbing. because it i loosely wound, it works better than a lot of yarns with less work processing it into dubbing.

What was that last fly pattern before the trout ate it ?
@marcod591
@marcod591 4 года назад
james The pattern at approximately 1:09 is pretty close to a fly called the Last Chance cripple. Super fun to tie!

Could you please recommend some flies that are effective for catching brown trout? Gold ribbed hare's ear works, but i also need alternatives. I'd appreciate the help!

Look under the rocks/in the weeds/on the bank/etc. where you're fishing and see what lives there, then search for a matching tie. Matching whatever is a steady food source works best, color is less important than shape or presentation, so if a bright color is all you can get for the tie it usually works just as well as the actual color. Especially if the waters muddied or murky, the clearer the water the more important it is that the color be close. See also "Makflies" and Barry Ord Clark {The feather bender}, here on you tube . Many good patterns and techniques.

@@avikmital5548 I have been tying for 50+ years and still learn stuff from these guys, as far as tying goes, any old yarn or thread will tie, but for durability if using second rate mats, do a whip and cement every step, it is an art, play with it, some of the weirdest ties I've done caught the most fish, generally if it looks like a bug something will eat it. lol
