For those who don't know, most (if not all) European carousels rotate clockwise. Many European carousels are much older than American carousels. Keep in mind that many of the biggest names in American carousel carving were European immigrants.
Very nice sounding band organ! Plus, for the courtesy of you and others who view this, the march heard in this presentation is John Philip Sousa's "King Cotton."
Wow! Thanks for the LAUGH! - Its funny how this stuff is mainly funny for kids or adults who are drunk (or stoned) out of their tiny little minds! I guess that's the only time they let their guard down, to enjoy something like this? -- ... and to see that statue go by each time with the volume increasing! HILARIOUS! -- I guess it is also great fun for non-drug using people like me, who are just plain WEIRD enough toi appreciate this stuff! *sniff* Too funny, man... Thanks.
@TheWurlitzerFan Its good that there are others who enjoy it as much as I do. - It is a hoot... but I'd be VERY embarrassed to get on, even though I WANTED to, being all grown up, and stuff. I guess the macho role has been forced on me. *sigh* I bet some people have kids just to have an excuse to go on such rides! Hey, whatever works!
@icelandknight Ummmm...I don't think adults need to be drunk, stoned or otherwise out of their minds to enjoy something like a carousel. You don't have to be weird to enjoy it either. It is a great piece of history that still operates on steam, which is very rare nowadays. The statue is part of the band organ, which is also another piece of history.
