Last year when I drove from Washington state to a job in Kansas I played this song about 1/3 of the time flying down mostly empty freeways at 80-95 mph. It was superb.
For 80's arcade junkies, 'Magical Sound Shower' are fucking special words. Also, Suzuki-sama, thanks for all of your kick ass games. Gamers of the world, game hard.
So many memories come to mind with this song. Like the time I first went to an arcade with my dad, way back in 1989. We sat on the cabinet and played Out-run over and over for a whole afternoon.
Always felt like such a dude sitting in this classic arcade game whacking from left to right! Driving one handed, with a straw cup of fizz in the other hand! 😂 good memories!
They had this at an arcade on 7 mile in Northville Michigan back in the late 80's. So good. I never truly mastered this one, but I did Operation Wolf. I could one quarter that all the way through.
Fucking awesome!! Reminds me when I was 10 years old. First racing game I played. Was also playing afterburner II, Space Harrier II, Super Hang On. Such a fan of Sega Arcade games. So many good memories 😊😊😊
What a joy to find this wonderful piece of nostalgia on RU-vid. Goosebumps and shivers down my spine at 2:18, when the ´improvisation´ piece of the song starts. Thanks for uploading this!!
I used to play the arcade car-like machine with this particular song with only one coin until the end and used to had some girls waiting to play and starring at my neat driving in that machine until the end of the road.......such an amazing time to be alive (early 90's)
I played this awesome game on arcade and then on ATARI ST version... This song we used to play it in a more "heavy metal" version with my band at studio , then i mixed a song when i was 18 with fruity loops and included this music in it...I wanna say it is always on my mind even the years have passed ... Best soundtrack of a game... Never forgotten..!!!!
I came here to pay homage to a tune that ruled my formative years, and took most of my money and time. IMHO it’s the best tune in Outrun, and it still rocks today😊👍🏽.
The song Magical Sound Shower of Outrun in 80's Arcade, seems the Brazilian Music then played Samba and playing Football in Favela of Rio de Janeiro. I looked the Man driving the Ferrari F50 and girl enjoying the travel and discovering the beach and the wonder place when played in arcade in the 80's and liked the decade that was lived. What a Masterpiece and total Nostalgia for me!
So I have been looking for this song in a LONG time! I remembered the name and the beat since then and was one of the reason why I played Outrun! After searching record stores and asking around, today is the day I said to myself... check youtube and here it is! Thank you SO much for posting it!!!
Is it strange that this music makes me think of, say, Gloria Estefan? I mean, this sounds just like something the Miami Sound Machine would make in the 80s.
My brain knows this is all sequenced but my heart still thinks there’s a bossa nova guy in the studio absolutely wailing out on the steel drums for the solo in MSS
Woha. I was sitting while my daughter watched high-school musical the series. And in s1e5 they have a band playing a song. Then it hit me like a fist. I've heard that song before. It's this one. They used this tune in the TV series.
Loved hearing this bellowing out from my local arcade as a kid. Then getting the C64 version that came with a cassette with the original arcade music. Played to death ❤️
Quite a number of games from the time have awesome soundtracks. Listen to the one for LifeForce sometime. Or, heck, the pinball machine Black Knight 2000.
When I first kicked in this game on MAME 32, I was atonished by the high quality and the punch of the Sega PCM drums. A perfect drum machine. Almost realistic. Of course, just an add on to the YM-2151 FM.
Almost sounds like it was performed on an Electone (Yamaha's home organ line, still made in JP and were available here in the US), Probably b/c of the drum samples which were used in alot of Electones in the day. And they also used FM.
What a game and a what a tune. Sega at their best along with the likes of Sega Rally Championship. Pure driving pleasure although it does make you put your foot down! The bridge is highlight of this badass melody. Let the memories roll on...cheers for that👍🏼
You know. This is the ONLY reason I want a Red Testarossa one day. I want to listen to this whilst driving it. No other reason. I don't even particularly like Ferraris. I actually preferred Hot Chase and Chase HQ to Outrun, but they didn't have this cool music in them. So I don't want a Porsche, despite them probably being better cars in many ways.... Good thing I can't afford either, really.
I wonder if this game was a factor in making the Ferrari Testarossa one of the most recognizable Ferraris of all time. To this day, while it has glimpses of the 80s, its design overall is timeless. And when compared to the legendary Lamborghini Countach, it is subtle and elegant which I think helps its design reach out beyond its generation. Also I'm so happy I still have Outrun 2 on my Xbox 360, as I heard some years ago it got removed from the marketplace because Sega lost the licensing.
I heard this music ob OUTRun .. mmmm how do i describe it .. Orgasmic lol .. 40 years old .. This game took all my paper money hehehhe.. i broke the Ferrari wheel of in Blackpool on stand up unit .. I took OUTRun super serious .. I now own the cabinet.. Hehehe gotta be done ..
You don't see great games or hear amazing tracks like this anymore. Even with me being born in 1995, I can agree that this game is so fun. Nowadays it's all Fortnite and trash. Online garbage.
