Simple calculator trick. iPhones don’t remember the calculator’s history, but they DO remember the last operation you did (which you can redo by pressing the equal button), even if the phone is locked. Since the last operation was adding the password to the random number, then pressing equal will add the password to whatever is on the screen. Since the screen was cleared, it followed that the password was added to zero, meaning the result is the password. You may notice that the magician specifically has instructed Blau to clear just once. This clears the screen, but does not clear the memory (including the last operation). Pressing clear twice would have ruined the trick.
He never touched the phone after blau hit clear. There is no guarantee that all iphones allow access to calculator from lock screen…so there was no way he couldve known beforehand.Your explanation is for some kids trick…not this one.
@@pinkblueberryyyIt only shows the sum for me too but I think I know the trick. If you press equals again, it adds the password again to get a new sum, so he just needs to do quick maths to calculate the password.
I don't know how few people do this trick. Guy at community college did same thing but said the numbers on the top of his head (by saying birthday n stuff)
Let me tell y'all how it's done. You can try it out at home. Open the calculator, put in 4 random digits. Even 10 or 15 works. Add/Multiply/Subtract it with your passcode. Hit equals, then press clear. That was his instructions. Lock the phone. Go to multitask, open the calculator and press equals. Then there you go, your 4 digit code is there. Even if it's a 10 digit one or something, it works. As long as you input your passcode/designated number last.
@@TaylorNottz it would just appear as "402". Or something similar. If the magician was told how many number are in the passcode then he/she knows how many 0s are out in front of the number "402"
@@Paangu I understand that, but there's too many variables that could ruin the trick if he's genuinely using the calculator to get the password. For example, what if blau didn't have an iphone? What if he didn't have the correct iphone? What if he didn't use the native calculator app? What if he accidently typed in the wrong password into the calculator? It just seems significantly smarter to just watch someone unlock their phone beforehand and memorize the password.
Used to do the same thing to this oblivious kid I would hangout with at the lunch table, would watch him happen to put in the password and 20 minutes later after being no where near him come back and work my “Magic”
key point enter password at plus and only push clear once, if tap at calculator icon at your locked screen u can still access your calculator and u also can access your history by click clock icon. ofc this only works at certain phone.
@@karleigh nah the microexpression stuff is bullshit lol. I used to do magic too, and we usually say throwaway lines like that to add to the effect lol. It's part of the showmanship. In reality the trick is usually a lot simpler to execute. Another comment here said that it had to do with the iphone calculator app where if you open it from the lock screen and hit equals, it will show your last input. I dont have an iphone tho so cant confirm.
It definitely is that. Its why he had the camera move away. So that he could use the app. Ive tried it with my iphone. You can access your calculator without a passcode.
@@shadowgame0630if you press equals, it will add the password again to get a new sum. So he needs to do quick maths in his head to figure out what the password was from the new sum minus the old sum.
you kinda can...just press "=" and it will show the last entry (which was his password)...when he told the camera move away he misdirected everyone to look at the cameraman(sykkuno i guess) and quickly opened the calculator from lock screen top bar and pressed equal
My friend did this trick and he said the thing is that when you get the phone from the other person you make sure they dont close the phone using a mind trick and from there you can view their calculator history and quickly close it so they dont suspect anything
iPhone doesn’t keep calculator history by default. So that’s not how he did it. You can access the calculator from the Lock Screen but he made sure to have Blau clear his entry. Interesting trick! Edit: I figured it out. On the Lock Screen you can open the calculator and hit the equals sign. It will display the last entry! Not the sum of the numbers he has you add but the last thing Blau put in which was his pass code
@@Suspense1376 yea i dont have an iphone so i had to check other vids, but most calculators usually have a feature where if you keep pressing equals, it basically repeats the last operation you did. So if you did +1234, it's going to keep adding 1234 when you press equals. Now another feature i saw that iphone calcs have, and ive seen this in other calcs but not all (my samsung doesnt have it) is that pressing clear once only clears the current line (it will change the current number displayed to 0). You have to press it twice to truly clear the history. It's why the magician specifically asked him to only hit clear once. You can see this to when you hit C on your iphone calc, the button turns into AC instead (meaning all clear maybe?). So what happens is you type a random number: 4444 And then add your passcode: 4444 + 1234 = 5678 Hitting C once will only clear the line aka the result (5678) and it will revert to 0. Hitting equals will repeat your last operation in your history (since you didnt clear it completely by hitting clear twice) which is +1234 (your passcode), and since the current number is 0 (because you cleared the line), that will be 0+1234 which will basically just be your passcode. If you didnt hit C, hitting equals again will add it to the last result which was 5678, so the new result will be 6912 instead.
Cool math trick. My Dad used to ask me to write down a random number on the back of a sheet of paper and after doing some quick math he'd write the exact number as on the back. I still don't know how he did it.
Okay I’ve replied this elsewhere but I have figured out the trick. So if you don’t want spoilers then look away! He has Blau put in a four digit number, hit the plus sign, then his pass code. Then he directs him to hit the equals sign and then the clear button. The last thing is having him return to the Home Screen So the way he is able to know blaus number is simple and you can try this yourself after following the direction and locking your phone. 1. Pull down to access the search and open the calculator app (it’ll likely be in the most recent used) 2. Hit the equals sign. The app will display the most recent entry and not the most recent sum. Blau only hit the clear button once which didn’t clear all! 3. Lock phone again. Put on a performance for reading faces and then unlock the phone. It will display the Home Screen to the surprise of the room. And that’s how it’s done Edit: okay I don’t see him access the screen at all so I’m not sure if he is just very smooth or this is not the method he uses. I think it’s a good theory but I gotta be honest in saying this actually might not be the solve. He’s good!
Maybe studying Cyber Security made me paranoid, so I noticed the trick. All he actually did was put the guys thumb on the scanner. It's called tailgating. He figured out what was required (his thumb) and tricked him into using it.
