So I'm not really spiritual or anything like that, BUT a couple years ago I was on a deep dive listening to and learning the history of the band, Nirvana (trust me this is going somewhere.) During this content binge I stumbled across this interview with Kurt talking about where his last name came from. He started by saying he went through the yellow pages and called anyone with a similar last name until he found a lady who was actually researching where their last name came from and she said it was definitely of Irish decent. So Kurt decides to visit the home of his ancestors and he says the moment he stepped off the plane it he felt the most at peace he ever did. So again not really spiritual or anything but I do think trying to be closer to your ancestry can bring you some sort of happiness.

So my uncle is a very open guy, and in my opinion, one of the genuinely smartest people I know. Not one for conspiracy or anything like that. But he did a past life reading. And he said it was a very vivid, realist experience. Only thing he saw was being in an Victorian era house, painting the walls.

If you want to do rituals in your personal life that connect you more to your culture and ancestral roots, by all means, go for it, that sounds like a worthwhile personal pursuit. I used to date a girl who was into Crystals and such. From a sceptical outsider POV it's just psychosomatic and pretty harmless. if you do a spell or ritual for money, you feel better going for jobs or making a gamble. It doesn't make it any more likely, but you go into it more confident and for things like interviews confidence can be good to a point. Same with protection crystals and such. it makes you feel secure so you handle things better. I still don't agree with it myself but I can see the reassurance side of things people get from it.

I once tried to do a past life regression to figure out why I had so much anxiety driving because I was never in a car accident or anything but would shake behind the wheel. I had a weird vivid dream of a really uneventful life, of having an abusive dad and being really passionate about poetry but never having the courage to publish. the dream ended when I got in a horrific car accident with my husband, skidded across the road and bled out for a few minutes while thinking about what will happen to my kids. it was terrible but it weirdly helped me get over my fear of driving and I'm currently in the process of getting my license, how tf do I unlock the main character lifetimes (also it's super likely my brain made all that up just to help me cope with my fears of the worst possible outcome but it worked so I ain't complaining

I’ve been Wiccan for 8 years because I wanted to have some kind of structure in my life that was my choice, rather than going with a religion that was forced on me by others. Everything about crystals, “intentions”, or whatever is just a placebo effect! Most people know it isn’t real, but it’s a hobby and can be psychologically beneficial as long as you’re not delusional about it.
