theyve always been out of reach for me, too. till they just released the A3. $10k...a stretch, but reachable. but THESE speakers......... $172k oh my! even thru youtube to my headphones, that was delicious.
When you see the build of these things you understand how solid and the engineering is, they just have to sound fantastic, double skin carbon fiber cones with ROHACEL core like racing cars, carved solid aircraft grade alloy boxes, unbelievable.
I very much like the Magico speakers in most all demo's I have heard. I would like to hear some high def files and particularly a few cuts from albums on this system. The CD sound presents with a touch of a preservative taint.
Years ago at the London HiFi Show, which I attended for about 20 years, Absolute Sounds never used those distracting advert backgrounds. You don't need that sort of in your face promotion to sell this level of high end gear. Just my two cents.
I remember those days with the Absolute Sounds demos being strictly controlled ticket only affairs at which one was made to feel that one was being granted a privilege in being allowed to attend. How times have changed!
@@terrym540 is it so different? I imagine these are ticket only too. All I can say is those annual visits to their rooms are still informing me as to what the reference sounds are that I should aim for in my own system. In that respect it was indeed a privilege to attend as 99% of visitors weren't remotely prospective customers for the very best systems, self included at the time.
@@MrCatalysis101 In the heyday of the H-Fi News London Show there were other High End exhibitors attending whose demos were 'drop-in', just as informative, and, for me, far more enjoyable. In fact, one such demo led to my settling in the late 90s for an Ensemble Audio system. I only wish I could afford their current products. ensembleaudio.com/
@@terrym540 I really can't see why the ticketing issue was such a problem. It ensured that demand was met and that everyone got a highly professional demonstration. We would turn up at the show in time for breakfast and leisurely wander up to the AS rooms, get our free tickets and plan the rest of the day around these demos. While you're right that there were other demonstrations not requiring free tickets, we invariably came away having heard the best sounds from Krell/Wilson/Audio Research/Sonus Faber etc. etc. in the AS demos.
@@MrCatalysis101 As I experienced, one could be faced with the situation that all the tickets for that day's demonstrations had gone. Not all AS demos were exemplary. I remember standing at the back of the room for a demo of the then top of the line Wilson Audio speakers, and not hearing a stereo image. It was confirmed by the Wilson Audio representative who was standing with us that in order to hear a stereo image one had to be seated in the middle of the front two rows.
Back in 2018 I didnt have very good audio recording equipment. This was the first time I had ever done anything like this so you can imagine the learning curve involved.
onethreefiveeye i have about 300 cd’s and 200 lps, the old technology will never die as you have something physical to touch and look at, and in my opinion sounds million times better than streaming. long live cd
thats the problem of the magico's. i call it paper sounding. this is always the outcome with magico recordings... pretty poor results considering the price.
You hear the problems in the low frequenties of the room. "Those cables (Transparent) are very musical" No cable can be musical. A cable cannot create more musicality. These people need to learn more about music and facts. Who are you kidding?
The microphones are about 25 feet back from the speakers about 6 odd feet in the air - basically attached to the camera on the long shot. Far from ideal placement and it still sounds this good - imagine what the hot seat must have sounded like
@@PursuitPerfectSystem ; when people start to judge systems by a youtube movie, who are you kidding? The problem in audio is that these system are created by trial and error. Trial and error has no foundation. Based on the fact that you cannot understand what each individual part does to the endresult. These are audiogambling systems. People need to learn to focus on music. Like people need to start to use parameters in audio. Now it is based on nothing. When I ask people who also work in audio for a long time; what are the aspects/properties of sound? They have no idea. When I say to people; music is all about emotion? They all agree. When I ask them; can you tell me how the human emotion works regarding music? Again they have no idea. People who work in audio know so little about music and about the aspects of sound. You only can understand and guide an audiosytem when you can think and work by the properties of sound. All other ways of doing audio are all based on trial and error. What lacks any kind of foundation. It proofs how little people in audio know about music and sound. They all walk on very thin ice.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem ; A perfect system is a system what can reveal all the aspects/properties of sound. But this means you need to be able to work and think by the properties of sound. And second you need to understand all the limitations of sound and stage. This means you need to understand the limitations by the acoustics, smog, high frequent noise and magnetism. And you also need to understand all the aspects of the human emotion regarding music. It proofs how complex sound really is. When you are not able to understand all these parts. YOU DO AUDIO BY TRIAL AND ERROR. SO IT LACKS A REAL FOUNDATION WHAT IS NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND WHY THE SOUND AND STAGE IS WHAT YOU HEAR. WE ARE TALKING ALL ABOUT FACTS.
I always look at the audience of these demonstrations -Once again i see a disheveled group , in dire need of a good haircut and a bespoke suit. They are listening to a rig in excess of $100,000 but have only spent $50 on their apparel . Their priorities are wrong in my opinion -Remember Clothes Maketh the Man
