Dr. Abao, thank you for this exposition on democracy. it is true, our practice of democracy is the problem. your argument has lead me to ask my self "why do we have such practice of democracy?" then it pointed me to Plato's metaphysical and epistemological stand on knowledge, "how do we define democracy?" Real Democracy was again aborted in the May 2022 elections with Smartmatic choosing the leaders to rule, with the complicity of social media trolls and propagandists. BBM knew he was cheated hi-tech in 2016 and in return gave Robredo more than a dose of her medicine with the babaeng ahas doing the coup with Smartmagic. Now with China trying to get the USA and EDCA bases out and doing everything to change BBM foreign policy assuring it to capture our WPS(EEZ) is now exposing what they did last Summer with the rabid pro Russia pro China Venezuela who has control and supervision of Smartmatic.
The present Rules on Evidence promulgated by the Supreme Court is inutile to the hi-tech cheating of Smartmatic that only a regime change led by a 3rd Force, neither coming from the traditional warring politicians-pro Cory, pro Robredo, pro Marcoses or pro Duterte. The Cory Constitution was more flawed that the 1935 Constitution tailored made for authoritarian ML Quezon to prevent the expansionist policy of Japan in the 1930s. Going back to the 1973 Parliamentary Constitution without FEM's Amendment 6 is the only option of the 3rd Force with a general election with UN sponsorship or as watchdog. We live in the most dangerous time of our history with China doing everything to assert it's fake ownership of South China Sea convincing with money or any other way the 21st makapilis of our beloved country to grab power and/or pressure the country's leaders backed by overwhelming majority population preference for open society away from totalitarianism or authoritarian leaders like Duterte or her daughter Sara. Only a pro open society 3rd Force pro EDCA bases to counter China's agression with its Cory Constitution mandate as protector of the Filipino People massively supported openly in the streets can prevent this coming pro China powergrab.

The Edsa86 was a glorious regime change if only Cory listened to Don Chino Roces and not to her KKK. But the problem with Filipinos smitten with Cory Magic is they cancelled Don Chino Roces, the man who made Cory a formidable opponent of FEM and not Doy with his CAPM started on one-liner Manila Bulletin Classified Ads.
Because despite Aquino's failures in the end of his term, his administration allowed both support and dissent grow, which is freedom of speech. This is unlike our homegrown strongman who is afraid at the slightest criticism and resorts to using democractic instruments in order to slience negatives.
