First Tamil LGBTQ song?! I can't thank enough to the creators for making such an amazing song, bringing out the love and emotions between the wonderful girls. The lyrics are so connecting. Music is soulful. The chemistry between the girls are so pleasant to watch. I especially like the way how the song was made. The changes these girls feel inside and struggling to understand that change in the beginning, and slowly grasp what is their likely feel and seeing each other for the first time they now know what is happening. They are falling in love and in the background the lyrics aid the understanding of the audience as well. The fight, the struggle they go through not from outside but within themselves to accept it. Once, they accept themselves, now they have to fight to secure their love from others. That is where the ending of the song begins. The dancing part inside the circle, gives us the glimpse of how they fight hard and break the shackles of prejudice in the society. (The Electric guitar, flute and drums blending draws the listeners to the edge of the seat - in support of them) This is clearly shown when the father opens the door and seeing the girls dancing and auditorium is applauding them. The song is ending there, when her father looks at them in satisfaction and proud. That is where the shackles of prejudice were broken. Accepting the girls for what they are. And this is the message the song carries in my opinion. What a theme!!!!!! One does not have to watch a full movie to get the point, the song is in the entirety. Its complete - "ஜாதி, மத, நிறம் கடந்த இக்காதல், 'பாலை' கடந்திட உணர்வுடன் மோதல்". This song is a BREAKTHROUGH! I always embraced the LGBQT community and through this song, I hope many more million people are going to embrace them, feel them and empathize with them. This will definitely elevate the awareness in our society and seeing no hate comments in the comment section proves that our Tamil society is always progressive and against any taboo!
