un excellent souvenir sa a était mon premier concert de magma, bercé depuis l'enfance par ces mélodies et le 8 mars je revené d'un sejour en Espagne je me suis arrêter a perpignan l'après midi voir le rugby et avec mes camarades de sports nous sommes tous allez au concert de Magma, j'ai croisé le regard de Christian en arrivant en ville fumant sa cigarette devant la salle, je n'avait pas le cran de l'abordé lui qui avait bercé mon enfance. Mais ce concert fu pour moi une étape de ma vie

Being an undescribable amalgam of 20th Stravinsky, 30th classic jazz and scat singing, 40th big-bands with lots of instrumentation and players, 50ths free-jazz revolution of archangel J. Coltrane (Sundia), 60th rock and psych... In an unholy eve of 1969 MAGMA records their debut DOUBLE KICK Kobaia, gived birth to something this bizarre, that only the new-invented word ZEUHL could describe. And you know, what the irony? Accumulating all these crazy past musical traditions in one shocking and unearthly music, they foreshadowing all the peaks of rock genre long before they were existing: space-rock, sympho-prog, conceptual albums, jazz-rock contemporary and even RIO, hard-rock, heavy-metal and even extreme metal and who knows what else... We are just standing in the LOOOOONG shadow of MAGMA colossus to feel and describe it. This caliber of music will be properly discovered and researched only by further generations. M.D.K je découvrais Magma en direct live à la maison des jeunes de Fontenay-aux-rose, 92 ou il interprétaient ce monument musical pour une toute première fois en 1973, j'avais 18 ans et c'est gravé pour toujours. En première partie, nous avions eu le droit à Zao, groupe superbe aussi. Mais M.D.K sans Stella à l'époque, mais le Klaus ;-). Pour moi c'est un mouvement musical pour m'endormir, et à chaque fois appliqué différemment, une beauté ce morceau... :-)
these people should have a monument raised in the middle of france, shaped as Magma logo, for the significance of their musicianship for the last 50+ years, Art of the highest level. I hope to get the chance to see them live before they stop playing
He and two other members were asked to leave as Christian (and the others?) wanted to restructure the band. I was lucky to see the old lineup's 2nd last gig and got to thank the members in person!

Il y à encore des musiciens et des gens en général qui ont encore la foi dans de la bonne musique dans ce pays en BERNE ! ( Ou presque )
Thanks for uploading, will this be the line-up for the 2022 gigs? i'll be seeing Christian & Magma for the first time in October this year: Paris, in a fancy classic hall venue. The summer London gigs sound like they'll be more intimate & intense but am off to another legend of underground music in June: Goa Gil in Tutow. It's quite amazing really that these lads in their 70's are still doing their special thing...hopefully they'll be doing it in their 80's too!

Pour la voix soliste féminine, je préfère de loin celle de Julie Vander qui monte super haut et qui est capable d'une improvisation parfaite ayant grandi en chantant ces morceaux. Il suffit de réécouter les 30 ans de Magma au trianon pour s'en convaincre.
Pas faux, mais écouter Caroline Indjien (remplaçante de Sandrine Destefanis) qui monte haut aussi dans les aiguës À chaque époque, ses surprises ! Pensées aimantes pour Julie…
