Thank you for the video. How often should one clean it? Mine was installed last year probably around now. The system was flushed by the HE who installed it at the time
Very helpful video. I accepted the challenge and have found a very easy way to remove the speedfit bite-ring in order to inspect/replace the o-ring. Simply apply outward pressure to the collar and gently probe at the outside top of the grip ‘fingers’. After loosening the second one the whole thing pops out cleanly and you can get to the o-ring and its plastic protection ring.
You mentioned that you can't purchase new O Rings for the pushfit connections, however you can purchase the pushfit connectors themselves with the O Rings inside, so you wouldn't have to change the whole canister.
Thank you Mark - that was very helpful! We had a slight loss of pressure occurring regularly from our home heating system (Combi boiler) and traced it to the lid seal on the MagnaClean, which it seems wasn't screwed down properly. After sourcing a seal kit from Adey (who kindly supplied it free of charge, as the unit was still under warranty), your video enabled a DIY'er like me to service the MagnaClean and with fresh seals in place and lubed with silicone grease, the leak now appears to have stopped. Thanks for saving me a call-out charge, for what was in the end, a simple fix!
Thanks for that video Mark. I used your example to clean my Greenstar System Filter (old model with bleed at bottom) which had been leaking. When I removed the bottom section I discovered the reason for the leak - no O ring at all!! Have cleaned it and put it together again - still a small leak - now trying to find a source of an O ring to fit as not sure of original size.
thanks Mark, I had already cleaned mine, but there were plenty of points that I should have done, thought I would do again in 6months. Donation made. Thanks again
Brilliant little video, Mark. Thank you. We have had exactly this Pro 2 model fitted recently by our boiler service man and it was a mystery to me how it works and how it's fitted. I don't like things in the house which I don't understand!
thanks for the video my MagnaClean Professional 2 trigger will not release the pot as i was going to replace the trigger due to the red knob not stop spining to lock it
Great videos. Thanks. I have the older pro 2 that’s developed a top o ring leak. Wondering if I should just buy the newer 2021 model and put that onto the existing fitment for ease of change, do the newer model canister fit the previous pro 2 coupling ?
Have one of these in micro 2. Fitted 3 years...when you close values to water...water still keeps coming through filter so you can't put in inhibitor...now have to replace...
Hi Mark. I wonder if installing two magnaclean filters will be better? The way my pipes run from the boiler doesn't allow me to put in a filter as there is no room but I can put a filter on a pipe that's going upstairs and one that is going downstairs but will it be beneficial at all to have two filters or just one filter be enough put on any of the pipes will be OK. Thanks
A flexible loop with the same size speedfit connections would be useful to bridge the two pipes whilst servicing, if there is a small leak. You could even make one up with a bleed line to relieve any built up pressure. It could also be left in place if the cannister is faulty until you get a new one.
