Magnacut done, right! American Bladeworks Model 2. I got my first American Bladeworks knife a few years ago and I still love it. I also love to support my American made knife companies any chance I get when they make a good knife. I got tea excited when I saw that he made a new design and that it was in CPM Magnacut steel. In this video we will talk about the good , bad and also do some real world testing to see how it performs. Do you own any ABW knives if so what do you think about them? What are your thoughts on the new Model 2?

I've heard alot of good things about this knife maker. I don't have too man knives in that price range but this one definitely has my attention. I like the simplicity and classy look. Plus, who doesn't want magnacut.

I thought it was just me with the lock failure. I didn’t know how to approach it. I am gentle on my knives but I love this one for edc. It had closed on me showing me it’s true slicy nature when pulling it up from material. Nice clean cut. I’ll reach out. I had attributed it to steel liners on steel. I’m used to carbidized Ti liners on steel.

Thats not bad. I like the blade but something about the handle I am not feeling. I have had the Model 1 in the rotation for a few years. It took forever to smooth out the action but no other complaints. I think I will wait for other scale options and if the double clutch issue gets addressed.

I don't like it at all. Don't like the scales or the blade shape. Also, it's sad for me to say, but USA manufacturing is overrated, underdone and poorly executed for the most part by most of the OEM's. It's sad to see Reate, Bestech, We Knife etc, eat the lunch of the USA companies, but it is what it is.

No one here seems to care or take pride in their jobs anymore since Covid. Fearing competition or having one’s livelihood threatened used to be motivation enough for people to give it 100% in the craftsmanship and innovation dept. Seemingly now a thing of the past here in the US across the board.
