So far you are the only person doing cryo tempering that I have seen. I am going to try my hand at stainless just as soon as I can get my heat treat oven!
@aaron johnson my forge can barely r Reach temps for stainless, and it fluctuates a lot. I have a small kiln that only reaches 1600f. Until I can get more reliable equipment, I will stick with what I know I can do properly. I refuse to sell a knife to a customer that I don't know has had the best practices I can accomplish. I'm not too far from being able to get my heat treat oven though.
Enjoy your videos..a LN2 dewar is only around $200 to $300..and LN2 is as cheap or cheaper then dry ice..LN2 can be stored for a long time with little losses per month..allowing you to use it for several different knife builds..long term its cheaper and more convenient to have on hand to use whenever you need it..
@@AaronJohnson1979 typically at welding shops that refill tanks of welding gasses..but there's several other non welding shops that sell gases like Airgas..no special paperwork needed just a LN2 dewar..most 10L and 20L dewar have a 1.9 inch diameter neck opening..I'd ask your phone for nearby sellers..but get the dewar off Amazon or ebay..
And btw i think that edge would be perfect i would imagine that cleaning out and dressing game/animals you would like a little bitey grabby edge. But i have dont know ma self as ive never done it
Thanks fo the great video mate! Can you please make a video of your Magnacut chef knife? I would love to hear from your perspectives of how it performs in the kỉchen. I just love those thin edges easily slicing through ingredients.
Both MAGNACUT chef knives I made I never used them. I gave them to these two guys on RU-vid they both post videos of their results. I will send you the link of both videos.
