Perfect for a slippery NY muddy spring road. I appreciate the complete project and good taking the time to film. I've lived all over the United States, and can tell you a Magnatracs has it's place. I've owned a Magnatrac 4800, and now a Kubota 3030 tractor with backhoe. I've found that they both work adequately for most projects. The Magnatrac, with backhoe is stronger, easier to fix. The tracks are the blessing and the curse of the machine. The magnatrac is slow moving, but is much better in the mud and great for pushing. The seating position forward and on the backhoe is cramped. If the machine breaks down, moving it is a nightmare do to it's weight. The short tracks make it feel tippy going up ramps or hillsides. The biggest drawback is the slow speed it travels, about 3 mph. However, that being said, it's a capable machine, and not a toy. The money us saved in just this project paid for 1/4 of the machine, if you bought a used one like I did. My Kubota tractor with bucket and backhoe has been great, but also has it's limits, it does everything but not exceptionally well like a specialty machine. My advice for people is that if you are torn between what to purchase. Look at your property needs. Is it rocky, wet, muddy, snowy? Then something with tracks might work. If it's a large area, you might need something faster. Just my two cents. P.S. My nickname growing up used to be Donde....bark bark.

Thank you for sharing a REAL ( magna track) at work real world use of your Stout track Backhoe. I love 💕 the roll cage. The only thing I'm looking at is the long stabilize. Do you have problems with dirt building up on them. Just asking. Now this will sound EGO on my part. I own a 190 Dynahoe, Would Love to come and HELP you DIG. My baby Wt.19000 pounds Digs 19 feet. But I'm like you saw a great Track Backhoe bought for Personal use. That's what I do. Ran Dynahoe's in the late 1970s. And said I want one. Got a deal on one in 2003, it's been Digging in my back yard ever since. I had huge Maple drums to take out. Got a WASTE dumpster. Dug them up. I am envious of your Magna Track they look so amazing. Great work machine for around your property.❤❤

Observation 2) Around the midwest we have crushed stone for drives. Basically crushed limestone. It compacts. That stone won't compact. You'd spin tires in it. And sink in mud. Unless they don't know better.

Depends on where you’re at in the Midwest and what’s readily available in certain parts. Close to me it goes from limestone to pea gravel. Some roads you can actually see when they switch from limestone to gravel. Gravel is definitely not pleasant thing to drive on during wet times if you don’t have a proper built base. The ones here also tend to fail during flash flooding. 10x faster then limestone roads. Our gravel here is definitely not the same as the stuff these guys are using in said video though. Not even remotely close. The stuff in the video looks like it’ll pack decently.

Another question ❓ I have, bear with me. You sit sideways when running the backhoe. Is that because it is better for YOU or is it NO room if facing backwards Just asking. I have a seat adjustment problem with Dynahoe. I need to move it When I turn around. It looks like a great😮 power to move material no matter what you do.😊😊

Recently purchased a brand new Magnatrac MH8500, with front end loader and rear backhoe. I’ve found myself tucked in to both seat positions, and operating the opposite direction- while seat-forward and primarily running the front end loader, I’ll use the rear controls to operate the backhoe for short periods, and vice versa. The key is that I find it easier to use the seat positioned for whatever I’m doing the bulk of the work with- seat forward if I’m using the front end loader, seat backwards for backhoe work, and only twisting around to make minor adjustments to the machine’s position. It’s because changing the seat position is a little bit of a hassle, having to shut the engine off, set the parking brake, turn the seat around, and restart the engine, all to “by the book” it. As for having enough room to be comfortable with the seat position, I’ve found it works well- the seat is adjustable for both height and leg room. I’m about average height and weight, five nine and a buck ninety-something. Hope this helps! Alan

@@AlanKrueth1989 What I like about You my friend is you made the choice and bought one. It looks like a very subcompact track loader and excavator. I remember seeing them before the U-Tube fame They are so differently made than a standard backhoe loader. Back in the 1970s they used to mount a JD Backhoe on a 450-C dozer or loader Back then lots of sewer contractors in my area used 450-C JD dozers.

@@rp1645 My wife and I traveled to Cedarburg, Wisconsin, late January this year, to test-drive the MH8500, tour the facility, and see for ourselves what the Struck Corporation made. I knew from that experience that the Magnatrac was the machine for me, and I purchased it in good faith; at that time, the company was going through a lot, future uncertain, as they were going through being bought by a new owner. Some employees had quit, and such actions delayed the production of my machine. They’d contacted me about it and asked if I wanted a refund or not. I stayed the course, and they delivered it within a reasonable time. I’ve been very happy with it since. It’s proven powerful enough for my purposes and then some. It’s easy enough to service, doesn’t require any fancy tools to work on it. Easy enough to use and easy enough to repair without breaking the bank.

Thanks for this video. I've been seriously considering getting one of these (the diesel version) instead of a tractor or skid steer. Would love to know your thoughts.
@pigeonpat8168
@pigeonpat8168 2 года назад
i adore it. it's very strong and very well built for a machine in it's weight class. mine's 31 hp gas v-twin (which i love). the diesel unit's prob have even more jam.. the backhoe is especially great on magnatrac's, nice big cylinders, imo substantially stronger than a backhoe on a little wheeled tractor. also no electronics to fuck off and break. however it is very slow compared to a wheeled machine or skidsteer, at least when it comes to cruising around, it's prob 3 mph lol.

Used properly they are the best bang for your buck ! Only a 1/4 to 1/2 the price of a skid steer. With many attachments available and a factory warranty that is available that is very highly recommended. Great quality product that is user friendly and economical. From a mechanic and heavy equipment operator.

It seems liuke the biggest thing with the Magnatrac s for people to be able to think outside the box and use the attachments, or parts thereof, to be able to do the job. That would be a bit of a hassle for someone not able to look at projects in that manner, but for the usual owner, it shouldn't be a major issue.

I am seriously thinking of getting one and looked at all their models, the only complaint I have is most of the vids, they are being used like a toy, barely scratching and not really putting them to full use, nothing like the struck vids, if I dropped $30,000 I'd put it to work.

Moved all that dirt just to put a pile of gravel in its place

My thoughts also. Why not take all the dirt and move it to the downhill side? Make your turn around wider, then spread gravel all over?

Yeah I keep watching videos about these - they seem neat but dont have enough weight or grunt to do really anything half decent. A clapped out skid steer could run circles around this all day long

I've been trying for years to figure out what these things can do and there is NOTHING out there. This thing is retailed at $45,000+ and it has no balls. That was just pitiful. They really hype these damn things up in the commercials. For what one of these are worth, you can buy a tracked skidsteer with the attachment. I'm surprised that struck is even still a thing at this point...

Observation 1) My 3320 Deere w/ front 6' bucket and rear box is $25k. Not cheap but could embaress that thing. A rear "hoe" is $5k new but fo the times I'd need it I can rent one (tractor w/hoe) for $400 for weekend. That area they said 4-5 hours I should carve out in 1/2 the time including the tree root. That dozer is for playing not real work.

Got the Magnatrac MH8500 recently, with excavator bucket and brush grapple, D108 backhoe w/24” bucket and log forks. It’s been great so far, used it to remove an abandoned car and other debris from my property, move logs around, push snow, digging practice with the backhoe… loads of fun AND useful. All for less than half the cost of a comparably powered Big Green (John Deere). My only complaint about my ‘Trac is its lack of speed- tops out at about three miles per hour wide open. The lack of speed is offset by the utility and power, as I’ve not needed to run the engine at full throttle to do the work I’ve done.
