In today's video I'm gonna show you how to do a simple Fly-Through Text Effect, by adding a video or an image inside text in DaVinci Resolve. This simple and unique technique is fully made inside the edit page of DaVinci Resolve by using text and a tool called Dynamic Zoom. And I'm gonna guide you through the whole process, from adding the text into the timeline, up to adjusting the dynamic zoom.

Hey Leo, awesome tutorial howto add this effect. Easy to follow however can't get it work for me. At the dynamic zoom in the text I clearly put the red square into a letter somewhere above the middle but the text runs all the way to the bottom and dissapears. What am I doing wrong? I am using Davinci resolve 18.6 by the way with a wide 43"screen.

Sure! Just put a solid color on the bottom layer. Can be any color you want. Thanks for the comment!

This is a great effect, try as I might however I cant get it to work. Im new to resolve and a very basic editor but Im pretty sure I followed the directions. Text is in V1, fully white but I pretty much cant see any effect at all, it just plays V2 as normal (v1 is not off) 18.6 on iMac.

@@leodiaseditor Thanks for the prompt reply, I watched another tutorial and rather than switch composite mode to darken I switched one to Foreground and the other to Alpha. This appears to have done the trick and Im just back looking at your instructions on the Dynamic zoom. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge and backing it up with assistance.

The dynamic zoom seems slow, how do you do faster it?

Thanks for the comment! The speed of the zoom is proportional to the length of the text. If you make your text shorter, the zoom will go faster. And if you make your text longer, it will go slower. (Not the size of the text itself, but the length of the text clip). Let me know if it helped!

You can make the text clip shorter or larger to increase or decrease the speed :)

I have tried this multiple times Following step by step and it does not seem to work. I am using Devinci Resolve Studio 18. Once I put the text in with the background off- I turn the background on and the text disappears.

Hey! Thanks for the comment! What type of background are you using? An image? A solid? Another video?

This method only works well with a black background. If you want to do that with a different type of background, like a video or an image, try out the 3D version of it. I also have a video on that
