Good narration! I almost forget from time to time how much i hate Franks Xmen costumes. Odd that Magneto can kill Jean but then cant stop the claws but he used up his power if i remember right.
Jean Gray finally reached the totality of her Phoenix powers becoming one with the universe. He doesn't even have a helmet on to shield his thoughts and she can't sense that he's about to kill her. Lazy and sloppy writing ,the dumbest way Jean Grey has ever died.
This is 616. Also while Phoenix Jean is powerful she is still limited by her Human physiology. He's done this before when he fought Apocalypse. Looks at House of M: Civil War #1, he nearly killed Apocalypse and only kept him alive as there were too few mutants left after Wanda's fit. Magneto can manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum of the entire solar system. He's considered one of if not the strongest mutant on the planet.
@IStevenSeagal neurons rely on electro magnetism to send signals and information across the brain, if she has the same physiology of a human as the comment above said, then magneto should be able to do something like this.
@IStevenSeagal Apocalypse isn't made out of metal, his mutant ability, well one of them, is Self-Atomic Manipulation. He can alter his physiology on the atomic level. His armor is Celestial and made of a non-metal material, along the idea of carbon nanotubes, extremely strong and non metallic. Also it has normally taken the entirety of the X-Men team to be able to defeat Magneto, a team usually comprised of Alpha and Omega level mutants. While Jean with the Phoenix force is powerful she is still mortal.
I could be wrong but didn't apocalypse himself say to magneto your powers won't work on me because I'm not made of metal so magneto used the metal elements in his blood like he did to jean
Planet X started off soooo good! Then Morrison turned Magneto into a crazy, drug-addicted idiot. It’s a real shame because it could have been a real classic.
So Magneto was able to store and wield more power than PHOENIX (who literally devoured a star and destroyed the entire solar system, killing billions of people) was able to handle. Right... On a side note, the dialogue alternately made we wince and laugh at how cliche and edgelord it all is.
That’s not really Magneto at the end of Grant Morrison’s Astonishing X-Men (the comics they’re taking these panels from). They reveal this in Chris Claremont’s second volume of Excalibur, which is set after Grant’s Astonishing, but before House of M, but only lasted around 12 issues. It was revealed in this chapter that Magneto was an amnesiac in the ruins of Genosha and whoever this mystery shapeshifting and powers mimicking Mutant was, did everything in Magneto’s name, while also under the evil influence of the living bacteria Sublime. It should also be noted that Sublime was marketing itself as a designer steroid for Mutant power enhancement, in order to corrupt Mutants and make them more hated and feared by mankind to instigate a war that would wipe out both, leaving only Sublime. And the Sublime aspect of this story wasn’t from Claremont’s Excalibur (not to be confused with Chris Claremont’s _New Excalibur_ which debuted after House of M), it was from the alternate future storyline of Grant Morrison’s Astonishing X-Men that concluded the series (or at least Grant’s tenure on it).
@@michaelgarcia5680yes and because it's the true form of phoenix it can't be "merged" with anyone lol Jean is the true phoenix and Wpotc is her final form/status in whole marvel
This was the dumbest death Jean Grey ever had. She's an omnipotent omega level telepath and telekinetic they finally unleash her full totality of her power and he's able to sneak up on her and kill her like that. Totally lame and bad writing
Well, when Grant Morrison wrote this, it was Magneto. It really was his plan to cause havoc on NY and do all the evil stuff like a big super villain should act. But Marvel didn't like that old Mag got killed off like that and made a story that explained everything. It turns out... it was Xorn's twinbrother, Zorn, pretending to be Magneto, who also pretended to be Xorn (just because Marvel liked Xorn).
That was not Magneto it was Xorn..Also Jean was critically wounded not the Phoenix itself.. in later comics its revealed she wanted peace in death than being resurrected by Phoenix again and again with the danger to go dark and destroy everything..
Proof that even before the disney takeover, Marvel could occasionally be crap 😂 thats not on you Fernando the vid was well made and still a story worthy of sharing.
