Ancient Ephesus, Turkey is known as the City of the Gods. It was an ancient Greek city built in the 10th Century B.C. which flourished under the control of the Roman Republic in 129 B.C. It once had a population of over 50,000 people. As you can see from the video, there are many ruins that are left to remind us of a great city that once was.

It’s sad to see most of it destroyed. It had to be breath taking to see back then. Sadly we don’t take the time to build beautiful things like this anymore

Had the chance to visit this wonderful site few years ago. A pretty profound personal experience. Turkey is a magic country to visit with very kind people. Hoping to visit again in the future.

I went there many years ago as a young teenager and I have never forgotten it or the Turkish historian who gave up his day to show me and another girl around the city. Thank you for reviving the memories.

You're welcome! I would recommend taking a guided tour so you can learn the history and purpose behind each building and site. If you're on your own, I'd say get some type of Ephesus guidebook ahead of time ahead of time.

Hi Andy. Im making a "top 10 places to visit in turkey video". Is it possible for me to use some of your footage (5-10 seconds) in my video, when talking about Epehsus? Happy to mention you in the video credits and/or include a link to this video, for more info on Ephesus. Please let me know at the earliest.

They sure don't make things like they use to. Amazing architecture! And the cement we use today is highly toxic to whatever comes in contact with it. Amazing that they just found the recipe for this amazing cement, which "they" could not replicate. Which obviously lasts much longer and much more environment friendly. Hmmm????

Do you mind adding some narration to this video? That would help a lot! For now, thumbs down.

It's obviously too late to add narration to this video, but I need add historical facts in the graphics.
