Starting in St. Kilda I followed St. Kilda road, then took the Capital City Trail / Main Yarra Trail to Dights falls (Start of the Merri Creek Trail). At the end of the trail I took the Metropolitan Ring Road Trail to Thomastown Station to get back to the City.

Awesome video, I normally ride this from my place in Mill Park, to Thomastown and all the way to Dight Falls and then cross over to the Darebin Trail and ride home. if you were to ride it now there many new changes which have made it very enjoyable and safer to ride.

I'll check it out .. after being overseas for almost 3 Years I'll be back to Melbourne in November... can't wait to see what has changed since I had to leave due to the Pandemic...

@@seppswurzelwerk sounds like fun, be sure to ride the Darebin Creek trail again as it has also been extended. Have fun and stay safe riding!

I've done this ride quite a few times ... sometimes riding back along the Darebin Creek trail ... other times continuing the ride to Epping, and then to Mernda.

i dont think i ever went past coburg lake in all the times i used to ride the trail back when i was a kid. i used to go from northcote high right up to coburg lake. brings back memories to see this. I had so much fun, making small movies with friends, hanging out at various places ( @1:07:00 mostly), riding the trail, playing with my mates rottweiler in the baseball diamond near where i posted earlier.

Thank you! Have you done the Warburton Rail trail? I miss that ride the most. Take the train to Lilydale and ride it there and back. Only about 38 km each direction. Gorgeous scenery!! And many good places to eat in Warby - Cog Bike Café right at the end of the trail!

Barb West Thx 😊 I did the Warburton trail twice.... about 5 years ago ... and this November as a part of my ride to the top of Mt. Donna Buang .. no camera unfortunately but I plan for more footage of this and other trails when Im back to Melbourne after Christmas

Wonderful video. Brought back so many memories of my daily trips around the city. Lived there for 7 years. I normally took anniversary trail from Ivanhoe across Kew towards th gardener trail in East Malvern and Scotchman trail. Do you have a video of those trails?

Nice vid.Great for indoor training,gotta watch those kids tho,very unpredictable , had one run into the side of my bike once

Nice ride. Looked fast but maybe that’s the camera? Think I would have used my bell a few more times than you, especially with kids, walkers (sometimes elderly) and slow riders.

Sepp Wurzel but are they recognised trail loops or you just making them up

Usually, they are recognised trails with dedicated names and directions along the route. I don't enjoy riding my bike along normal roads too much. As most of them are between 20 and 30km I usually combine 2 of them within a trip
