Would highly recommend the works of Studio Ghibli such as Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle etc. Fantastic works of art that are almost universally highly regarded even by people who aren't fans of anime as a medium
Love Magnolia Park, the screams addition was a surprise but welcome! really hope you guys get back to 408 one day, so good and in the same style, they have an album coming out too soon
Holy hell, HIS TONE this entire track was insane! Easily one of the best punk bands you guys have introduced me to on the channel, cannot wait for that album.
the screams in this were unexpected but so good!!! Love their stronger lean into that pure pop-punk sound lately. As far as I'm aware, Baku is Magnolia Park's mascot (the skeleton looking guy on their artwork and in some of their videos) who is anime inspired, but not from any particular show or movie. Speaking of! Here's two anime recs that Johnny might like better than DBZ: • Death Note - cat-and-mouse crime thriller with supernatural elements • Erased - a time travel murder mystery Both shows are nowhere near as over-the-top as DragonBall Z, plus they're a bit more serious, and best of all they are both one-and done series! You get the whole complete story in just 30 or so episodes, so they're both quite easily digestible.
Pop punk is a dime a dozen but this is a tune, bring on more of the heavys! For anime try Cyberpunk, Akame ga kill, attack on titan. Short series that are to the point and don't drag on.
You could try anime with completed or not as heavily serialized stories musician based drama: Your Lie in April sci-fi: Steins;Gate randomness: FLCL comedy: Mob Psycho 100
Bro. Check out Erased! It's a short series that's more serious and a little less over the top. It's an investigation story and easy to get into and easily digestible if you're not an anime watcher imo. One of my favorites even still.
Well with ADTR pretty much done...this kinda makes sense....more please is damn right...these guys have been awesome the past couple of years so this is a natural transition....awesome!
