Create a space that is not publicly accessible and Magnus and the 'other' players are allowed there between games, that eliminates the need for any additional security for Magnus. When all players are allowed to access the 'outside' world, then Magnus or the tournament people can arrange a more secure place to stay for him. Can you explain to me why Magnus needs additional security when only players would be allowed?

42 here and feel the same way. Levy's way of explaining things is very easy to follow and I actually don't even dislike the memes and yelling about the rook. Even if I did, I understand the business side of it, and I think the thing I appreciate most about Levy is that he is very transparent about why he does things, and how the choices he makes affect his viewer retention levels and optics.

I'm 53, I've been playing chess as long as Levy has been alive and... not near as well.

@@obsabeshir9979 well for one, yes there are plenty of venues that can accommodate that sort of thing. I worked in a large event center that would host things of this nature and we had two large event spaces where we would hold events like this where hundreds of people would need to be in a room. There were also several more smaller event spaces AND conference rooms available as well that were typically empty when we held large events just because we would rent the whole venue out for the larger events like large corporate events/job fairs/etc even though they didn't use anywhere near all the rooms. So there are many places that can accommodate this sort of thing. And there are even more mid-sized venues that could set up a decent sized "tented" area directly outside of the venue either in a section of the parking lot or in the yard if there is one close enough to an entrance. My assumption is that you've never actually been to a large event like this or even lived in a large city where such events are relatively common because it isn't just logistically possible but very easily done. The only real obstacle would be financial but if they can't afford to provide such a place for all players then they should not provide a place like that for any players. What is fair is fair period.
