Please like and subscribe if you want more videos like this! Route setter is Jordan Grant (@climb.set.coffee) Shot by Markus Skaane, edited by Sam Tuck. Magnus Midtbø tries Australia's national comp boulders (crazy hard)
Honestly, please just make a weekly video of you climbing the new stuff in your local gym. It's why most of us subscribed in the first place, this video was a real treat.
Agreed, you climbing with a voice over was very chill, like hanging out with our best friend. Point out little things in your climb and some tips to do it better. Doesn't have to be your local gym, new places/faces keep it fresh.
As an OG fan, all I want to see is you enjoy and try boulders at your local gym and just talk and climb. You are why we watch! I miss the days where I could come home and see a 30 minute video of you just climbing hard boulders and talking to us.
Yeah same. I don't really care if you can beat a bunch of weight nerds on a beach, or if a guy can do an obstacle course.. not that those aren't all nice people, but just content wise.. meh. Better come with some strong bouldering imo 🙏
i genuinely enjoyed your old climbing vlogs where you trained/projected boulders. this would be a great place to continue that if you enjoyed making that content!
I also really enjoyed when you would provide updates and details about the projects you are working on. Loved seeing you climbing gym get off the ground. It’s just cool to see some of the background work that goes into what you do.
As everyone said it already: There's not enough pure climbing videos on your main channel, especially for people like me that discovered you recently, so don't hesitate to just put some pure climbing video without putting in too much thought like this one it was awesome :))
Magnus struggling on these problems is a rare sight - just a testament to how challenging they are. It was really nice having an old-school voice-over video! But truly, I think nearly everyone watches you because you're you. Make videos of what you enjoy.
Answer: CLIMBING, indoors, outdoors, board climbing, metaphysical, WHATEVER, Magnus climbing is literally what the OG subs came for and this is all we want. Weekly climbing on hard shit where you can even fail we’ll be back every week!!!!
@@toast495 hey could i ask what gym you go to because i am Australian and i am new to bouldering and the first place i went to was a small just one room place and everything was very clattered
Hey Magnus, I think videos on this channel should be 'low effort'. Not 'bad', but your main channel can have all the polish, editing, and most importantly - time - taken to get them as good as you like. Use this channel as an outlet to share whatever you want without pressure. Some barely edited clips of you trying problems with some VO, chatting with other climbers, maybe behind the scenes of your disguises. The hardest part of that will be actually clicking 'Publish' knowing that you can make the video better if you put in another 10 hours - resist that feeling!
Hi Magnus. I'm 58. Been indoor bouldering for a year and a half with my 11 year old daughter. These climbing videos you're doing are fantastic. I'm learning so much. Just want you to know, beyond the business of making videos, you're a very positive influence on us regular Joe climbers. Thank you!
I love your main channel magnus, but honestly I'm really excited at the idea of this channel being more climbing, more vlogs, maybe less effort from you. That's the style that I fell in love with back at the beginning of your youtube journey!
Bouldering and training sessions are perfect for this channel, I like the other stuff you do on your main channel but it's the bouldering focused content that got me watching you originally. It's great motivation too for my own climbing!
On M3 @10:30, the slab coordination dyno when the setter said only one person sent it, that person was sitting right there in the background 😂 Ben Abel
I'm really happy to see the old style videos back. Magnus climbing with a voice over. Great to see comp problems tried and explained to get a real sense of how hard these are
I didn't even realize this was your second channel until you said it in the video. This was great content. What a great routesetter. Boulder 1 is a masterpiece.
Honestly, if this channel was basically just those classic climbing vlogs, where you have footage of you doing hard boulders with a voiceover, I'd eat it all up. Really miss that kind of content and I can't seem to find any content creator who does stuff like that anymore...
Yess Magnus, more bouldering or climbing please. I´m this year 46 years into climbing and still can't get enough. My max boulder grade is almost the same as yours, only divided by three or four. I enjoy so much to see you climbing, your perfection in this sport is absolut incredible for me. I get wet fingers when you do hard problems, I am always fighting with you and take it as a inspiration, when I go to my boulder gym and say to myself: "Yess, let's check out this freaking hard 6b+...try always hard!!!"
I get the feeling that it’s hard for Magnus to release something that’s not up to the quality standards that he’s built up. But Magnus, don’t be afraid! Let loose on the second channel, we are all here for it!
I really love hearing your breakdowns of the technicals of climbs. I learn so much! Maybe even showing us projects and your thought process learning to top each one!
This is exactly what I want to see in the channel! Magnus against comp/interesting problems, getting insights from setters etc. VO over the climb to talk about your thoughts is also great!
I don’t comment often on videos. But this one is the best of your videos for a very long time your main channel included, I loved it!! I especially liked the unfiltered climbing, the discussion with the setter about strategies and the insights into the competition!
Honestly, loved the voiceover at the end explaining the climb and how it felt to you. Simple content of you climbing things and sharing your thoughts in a relaxed way is what I think we all want to see.
Definitely missed pure climbing videos like this. What I miss most is long videos of one really hard boulder with in depth looks at the holds and hard parts. Glad to see this video :)
This is an awesome video. Those problems are absolute gold and talking to the routesetter gives great insights in techniques and the rationale behind some of the problems.
Man, just film what you enjoy and this channel will take off. We can feel the passion you have for this sport and are just vibing along with it. If you want to keep the more cinematic and thought-out videos on the main one, that's alright. I guess I personally would be interested to see a "day in the life" kind of vlog. Including breakfast, travelling, business, Rungne stuff, whatever it is that day.
Great to see this video! Magnus also came during the semi finals and supported the climber's. A great boost for the young climbers to see him come support. Top bloke. Go check sport climb Australia for the finals live stream too. Jordan is a mega human too.
I loved watching your recent reaction videos, and videos showing you trying hard on cool comp climbs or boulders are also great! I think making this channel more climbing-focused would draw in a lot more climbing viewers (especially as this sport is growing so quickly).
I love the bouldering content so much, please keep doing it. It's just so interesting watching a top-class climber climb with good editing and interesting commentary. The climbing 100 and climbing 120 boulders in one session videos are some of my favourite content on the entirety of youtube. More stuff in that style please!!!!
love that you butted heads with him on the grading and he stuck to his guns justifying it, doesn't matter what level you climb at even V1 we all still bicker about this hahahha. great vid. would love to hear what athletes thought of the set.
Yes please! More bouldering videos! Always a pleasure to see you trying some problems (easy or not) like you did some years ago. The videos where you tried all the boulders in one night was absolutely legendary. Also the music in the end felt so good 👍 good memories for sure😊
I really liked this video. Especially the end where you are just climbing and explaining the problems. Also interesting to see how you work through problems that are difficult for you.
Definitely miss these types of videos on the main channel. Really love Magnus just climbing and talking about climbing. Glad this channel exists as an outlet so maybe we get to see this type of video from time to time. Love it!
Love that this channel is really climbing focussed, I’m definitely more excited to see it upload than the main channel! Would love to see some trad climbing content on here, perhaps some big walls or hard trad routes with Pete?
I would love to see this channel become like your old one with bunch of climbing content like before, i'm pretty sure the climbing community would love to see that happens ! Great video, i really enjoyed it !
My favorite thing is honestly you just climbing and voicing it over. Idk why but I like it more than even your live commentary on it. Just seems so chill but at the same time makes me really motivated to climb
Do only what you want. I am a fifty-five year old man who has never climbed and yet I like to watch your videos. Why? Because I enjoy seeing your life in general, both personally and professionally and in the playful part. Plus I really like you, your partner and your friends. Keep it up, life goes too fast to waste it. Thanks for your time.
Whatever you feel like doing with the channel will be great. I personally like to see this type of videos. Also loved the one where you show that beautiful gym in Norway.
Oh man thanks RU-vid for recommending the alt channel to me! Magnus struggling on nightmare boulders pure and distilled is just the best. I realize the physical challenge ones and the collabs are good channel growing material. This is more, well, retention material from a numbers standpoint. But as a viewer, delightful.
Yes!!! Climbing climbing and more climbing! I could watch you climb for hours, it’s why I started watching your channel! Just straight up climbing of any type. Nothing fancy needed!!! Thanks for your content!
I love that this channel seems to be going back to the basics. Not that i dont like the main channel, but sometimes I just want to watch you try some hard boulders. I love the channel photo btw 😆
that end monologue with the climbing in the background was such a throwback and a breath of fresh air from the new more meta videos. I really hope you can just make more videos like that on this channel. Almost like a podcast or just talking over videos of you climbing.
Your climbing vlogs got me into climbing 4 years ago and inspired me to start my own climbing RU-vid channel this year. Great to see that you're bringing them back!
nice video like 2 years ago main channel boulder and climbing videos, please keep this channel just for climbing and vlogs love to see you on hard outdoor boulders and routes also
Outdoor climbing content would be great! insight into comp climb stuff like collabs with IFSC routesetters and climbers would also be great! Thanks for creating great content!
I learned a lot about climbing from you. Thanks. Watching your approach to problems and trying new approaches has been most helpful. Keep up the good work. 🇦🇺👍
love this Magnus, love to see more climbing focused videos! so interesting to see the plans and thought process of the setter! maybe "behind the scene" type things???
This kinda content is what got me into climbing so I've really missed it, watching this felt like the old content and it was a great video. More please!
Happy to see videos of you just climbing hard. Would love to see more content with hard sport climbing, or even trying some of the best outdoor routes in the areas you travel to.
Love the chill vibe of the video and the low-key interview of the route setter throughout. Videos like this that are more climbing focused with lots of useful information sprinkled through are great. Not really 'tips' videos or anything too formalized like that, more just little comments here and there that give insight into how you're approaching something, what you're finding difficult or easier than expected etc.
I actually love seeing you try these comp set problems. Would like to see you with some of the current athletes, climbing. It's always good to see how you fare against the new, current crushers. Maybe a vid with Toby Roberts to start the series...
I love this channel being more climbing exclusive and vlogey like back in the day. I remember watching you back in the #20 vlogs and you got me into climbing. Selfishly, I love those old days and more free style videos.
If the channel was just you doing a bouldering session every 2 weeks, I would be happy. VLOGs would definitely be cool, some outdoor videos would be great, but that might be a bit too time consuming for the second channel, since it's a lot harder to get good footage outside. Anything climbing related is awesome, would love to see collabs again with Anton doing climbing or ninja warrior obstacles too.
