Arrows are good for beginners, but if you really want to get better at chess you should try to memorize the squares ranks and files so that you can eventually grow some balls.

watching Magnus flip the switch at the end from playing strategically for the endgame advantage to mating within a few moves -- absolute killer instinct. I'm by no means a good chess player, but even still my brain struggles to hold the ability to calculate multiple win conditions like that at the same time. we are so lucky to live at a time where all time greats can play and provide commentary in real time for the whole world to see.

It would have been impressive, if chess engines didnt exist and can not only analyze but also give you interactive tutorials Not taking anything away from magnus, just acknowledging how technology has chipped away at some of the prestige.

It is hard to say who the GOAT is imagine if Fisher had the resources that Magnus has today to practice his game. Magnus is the highest rated ever with a lot of modern help.

@@jnormanton I agree Fischer should have been higher in peak ELO, which is a contemporaneous relative rating system whereas due to computers helping chess MC is better in terms of moves he makes vs Bobby's.

Magnus is a real genius - the ease with which he explains move and is in control of his own game simultaneously is quite something to see. He certainly make this win seem and sound very easy - have played this kind of game 100s of times...his opponent also played quite well - but Magnus thinks like a GM all the time !!!...

Carlsen always makes it look way too easy.. I just imagine him being this professor of a certain subject, explaining all the intricacies of the topic in a very comprehensive way that will be understable to anyone who has surface knowledge about the subject.

I'd love to play Magnus someday, probably wouldn't have a chance but it would be fun to see the difference and perhaps have my mistakes explained, but haven't played a game in 4 years so I would probably need some freshening up on the gray brain cells too It is always enjoyable to see a good chess match and kudos to Yon606, great effort and good game
