Alireza had the worse position so he took more time to come up with moves ... although he's better at bullet. Or maybe both forgot about the almost no increment.

The format of this tournament seems ideal. Maybe 60 miniute instead of 120 minute, but really, cant complain. David is a great announcer too. Not sure how anna will do.

If you are broken and you still get two draws with Magnus, not broken will be scary. King Ding will come back stronger.

The first draw was literally a 10 move draw😹what are you on about. He's lost all motivation to play chess. Watch him make all draws this entire tournament. He had to make the first decisive move but he opted for the repetition instead😂 even though a draw here equals that he would lose. Just like what he did in tata steel masters earlier. And ofc magnus took the draw cuz that meant that he wins. Sit your ass down ding should absolutely not be playing this tournament. I'd rather watch Wei yi anyday over him

@@afkass4965 Ding also drew Magnus twice in Grenke just a few weeks earlier. He's in ok form and his condition has been greatly exaggerated.

Saying the men and womens prize pool should be the same is like saying WNBA players should be paid the same as NBA players ..it has nothing to do with equality...its quality and the number of eyes it draws

@@Ray-ru3pc False equivalency. Men are naturally stronger than women, hence different weightlifting divisions. Chess is an intellectual game - don’t compare it to a contact sport. You should take your own advice and develop some critical thinking skills.

Was the comentators high today? David is clutch but You have different reason for playing moves. Its not just to look pretty but to make treats and put your pieces so they do stuff not just look pretty (even if thats good enough) sorry but hikaru did not risk he just played good moves and had a okei posision but made some mistakes.

Wow, that was some game between Ding vs Magnus and then Armageddon, and Magnus drew in a winning position. So now Magnus will face Nakamura tomorrow. I believe Magnus will beat him.

I like how in the Tingjhe vs Muzychuk game, he tries to analyse white on the board (and is currently having an advantage), and when he plays out a combination, the evaluation bar completely disagrees with him and says that the advantage is now lost, and then he goes “looks like even the engine has no idea what’s going on” and David goes “Yeah” and then swiftly moves on 😂

Ironic for Danny to talk about how he was happy about the progressive prize funding split, and then proceed to continuously commentate over Anna / repeat what she said as though it was his ideas. Felt very patronizing and disrespectful. (EDIT I found an example @1:09:18. And this was just a couple minutes after he completely steamrolled her choice of game to jump into, lol. It's like he just didn't care she was present.)

Today's shows again why Alireza will never be a top chess player and will never have a good performance against player at his same level. He just need to move pieces in armageddon when he has the advantage and suddenly start to think finding ways to checkmate his opponent wasting time out of nothing, can't make the right decision unlike the others players, I'm a nobody with my 1800 Elo but what a waste from a player with Alireza's talent, maybe he need some lessons from Naka
