With all due respect Arjun had the wisdom to choose Krishna as his friend and mentor while karna made the mistake of choosing Duryodhan as his partner and choose to stay quiet when the droupadi was being disrobed. His purpose of life was only to defeat Arjuna. So the moral of the story is greater purpose and better company of people we keep around. We can choose our parents and relatives but we can certainly choose our friends role models etc. Choice is the most powerful weapon. Exercise it with caution.

Maharishi Ved Vyasa hadn't designed Arjun’s character. He had narrated Mahabharata after the war and Pandavas journey to heaven. It was after this entire episode that Vyasa had narrated this epic to Lord Lambodara who wrote it because he wanted the world to listen to the Mahabharata and learn values like truthfulness. People may or may not believe but Arjun was the greatest warrior of his time surpassing all others in determination,skills and intellect. There is a verse in the Mahabharata which proves that Arjun is the most important person after Lord Krishna in the Mahabharata. नारायणं नमस्कृत्य नरं चैव नरोत्तमम् | देवीं सरस्वतीं व्यासं ततो जयमुदीरयेत् || “Om! Having bowed down to Narayana and Nara, the most exalted male being, and also to the goddess Saraswati, must the word Jaya be uttered.” This verse is written before the Mahabharata. First we must take the name of Narayana who is Krishna, then Nara who is Arjun and then Goddess Saraswati and then we must read the Mahabharata says Maharishi Vyasa. Arjun was the incarnation of Nara as mentioned many times within the Mahabharata and Vyasa himself mentions his name to be taken before we read Mahabharata. This proves that Arjun was indeed superior to other warriors of his time. नरस्त्वमसि दुर्धर्ष हरिर्नारायणो ह्यहम् | लोकाल्लोकमिमं प्राप्तौ नरनारायणावृषी || “O thou irrepressible one, thou art Nara and I am Narayana or Hari! We are the Rishis Nara and Narayana born in the world of men for a special purpose.” Within the above verse Lord Krishna tells Arjun that he is Narayana and Arjun is Nara who were born for a special purpose. Maharishi Vyasa wasn't partial towards any one. He was just truthful and he wrote the epic and described all the characters as they were in reality. Arjun was skilled and determined. He was truthful. He was loyal to Draupadi and fulfilled her desires. He did penance and pleased Lord Mahadeva who then bestowed upon him the Pashupataastra. He married Lord Krishna's sister Subhadra. He avenged the insult of his wife Draupadi with all his brothers. Arjun was indeed brave, intelligent and handsome. Therefore Maharishi Vyasa mentioned Arjun the way he was. युधिष्ठिरो धर्ममयो महाद्रुमः; स्कन्धोऽर्जुनो भीमसेनोऽस्य शाखाः | माद्रीसुतौ पुष्पफले समृद्धे; मूलं कृष्णो ब्रह्म च ब्राह्मणाश्च || “Yudhishthira is a vast tree, formed of religion and virtue; Arjuna is its trunk; Bhimasena, its branches; the two sons of Madri are its full-grown fruit and flowers; and its roots are Krishna, Brahma, and the Brahmanas.” Even in the above verse the virtues of all the Pandavas are mentioned. Vyasa just didn't glorify Arjun. He described the strengths and weaknesses of all persons within the Mahabharata. कार्तवीर्यसमः कुन्ति शिबितुल्यपराक्रमः | एष शक्र इवाजेयो यशस्ते प्रथयिष्यति || “O Kunti, he will be equal unto Kartavirya in energy and Siva in prowess. Invincible like Sakra himself he will spread thy fame far and wide.” This was the prediction before Arjun's birth that he will be equal to Lord Mahadeva himself. That's how Arjun's virtue was predicted before his birth. Karna, Bheema, Shalya, Satyaki and all other warriors were really strong and skilled but more importance has been given to Arjun because he is indeed Rishi Nara in his past life and no one is as virtuous and pious as him. He was the friend of Lord Krishna and always supported the truth. Therefore Vyasa mentioned him the way he really was.

karna fans don't know arjun faced more tough situations in his whole life than arjun but karna only had a tough childhood after he got picked by duryodhana , he was a king and karna didn't go against krishna he go against dharma. and arjun got krishna trough his pure bhakti that's also his achievement and he was the strongest man that's why he was hero of the mahabharta, your choices make you what you're not sympathy . so karna was good but plz don't overhype his character for your personal feeling.
