Budget is not huge so CGI is not up to the mark of GoT but comparing both is like comparing apples to oranges. One is history that shaped Bharat and Baratiya culture and the other one is fiction. About Mahabharata it’s more about gaining life lessons then being visually pleasing with breathtaking CGI. The sub-plot and stories are core rest your can let your imaginations fly. Although I think South Movie industry is planning to making a big budget Mahabharata in series. That would be simply amazing.

You should watch so you get know actually what the reason behind the War the serial Mahabharat show some important events and made some changes but you should watch it i can't tell the whole story because it's difficult it's the longest book in the world Mahabharat it's 5 times the Bible so many story i think the story about 100 or more years story i think

Specially read Ami Ganatra ji's Ramayan and Mahabharat unravalled books. Those books based on original Maharshi Valmiki ji Ramayan and Ved Vyaas or Krishna dwaipayan Vyaas Ji's Mahabharat. Mahabharat is history. It was not created or it was not a made up story. It is real history n 100% true. Kurukshetra still has evidence of the events that took place during Mahabharat. Evidence of the war is still present at Kurukshetra.

I just want to suggest you, never I mean never try to watch animated movie of Mahabharat cause that was pure disappointment they show 78hr story in 1.30 hr. So stay away from animated one, If you wanna ever watch mahabharat so watch this one mahabharat what you react cause this is Good. There is one Old one mahabharat that is classic but visually not good.
@Gauri Singh yeah accuracy wise it is best but not new people wanna watch cause of poor visuals if people don't have problem with poor vfx then I recommend old Mahabharat 👍
