One of my favorite games ever was playing as Mahact. A minor early lead by securing the first point off MecRex combined with some minor ship sniping for faction tokens had earned an exaggerated amount of animosity across the board. By early mid game, a combination of a tactical phase and agenda phase had every single player take their turn twisting the knife into me. With cold fury I prepared for what would later be known as "The Round of Revenge". With my entire stash of command tokens saved, Leadership in my hand and Integrated Economy & Fleet Logistics researched, I declared war on the galaxy. Scouring the planets of my enemies one by one, using IE to reinforce the fleet & army as it moved through weakened systems, surrounding and cutting off routes of retreat for enemy fleets and forcing them into battles of total annihilation. Popping leadership to refresh my tokens after destroying one players slice and taking MecRex from another. I continued the rampage. Of course the board didn't take this lying down. Two massive fleets from the most powerful players left came to confront me near MecRex. The Fools. My Hero forced them to fight each other, completely destroying both fleets leaving essentially nothing left for the victor. With only one player left to contest, but finally economically exhausted & weakened, we clashed over their territory where I was turned back, but not without seeding mechs and legions of inf at strategic positions all over the map to slow any counter attack. After the table was completely shattered, they did attempt to break through to my home world and end me but it was too late. I won the game holding no Supports for the Throne. No Compacts. No Terms. Kneel.
I must say, the audio is fantastic in this video, much improved sir. I love your videos and find the content so helpful, hopefully I will be able to use it to actually win a game soon - I've been close a few times now!
Thank you! I am so happy to hear that the audio has improved. I didn't imagine it would be that hard for me, when I started making these video! I hope you first win will come soon! Which factions have you played so far?
Another great video that highlights one of the more powerful (and complicated) factions to play! 🖖 I would like to hear your thoughts about how Mahact should approach their Imperia ability, as not all commander-related abilities are created equal. The ones displayed as the example would have created a Mahact juggernaut- Nomad's "free" flagship; Empyrean's system de-activation; Titan/cabal production bonuses; Naaz's exploration. Depending on your opponents, the potential combos could make Mahact very disruptive to the standard TI4 gameplay (think Argent, Barony, Keleres, Mindnet, Hacan, Jol Nar or even Winnu). These blended abilities may even incentivize other factions to delay their commander unlock or not even unlock them at all, which then has its own downstream effects on the player decision spaces.
Thank you. I really like the idea of making a video with commander combos. I'll add that to my list of future videos. Do you have any other tips on playing Mahact? :)
Thanks for the subscription! I appreciate it. You're the first one to mention the ships in the background. I was just playing around while editing, and found myself laughing when I did the animations. So I thought, why not just include them as funny little thing :)
Great video. Mahact are an interesting faction to play in that the bonus commanders they get can influence how you play. Have you thought of doing a video on good commander combos? I played a game recently as Mahact where i had the commanders from The Empryean, The Nomad, Sardakk Norr, Ghosts of Creuss and The Naalu. The Empyrean and Sardakk are particularly nice but the Ghosts' free fighters were amazing with small cruiser fleets, absorbing PDS fire when I moved.
Thank you! That is a great idea with a video discussing the commander combos. I'll gladly add that to my list of videos to do :) How did that game go? Did you take the win?
@@essersgamingcave Unfortunately no. I spent the last round systematically dismantling The Naalu's ability to score before me, I used the Sardakk commander to get mechs into his HS. However the Ghost player, whom I had discounted, managed to sneak a win before me. Was a great game though.
Tomorrow i am going to play an Alliance game as the Mahact with The Nomad as my Ally. Free Flagship and commander directly unlocked, this is going to be so much fun 😊
@@essersgamingcave We couldn't finish the game because of time, but i did manage to score 11 VP's and was in the lead. It was a whacky game because of the commanders, a lot of fun.
Mahact are really powerfull! And hard to predict where they will strike next. Played once, want to play again at some point. Taking MR first round will not make you any friends, I better wait. I think I lost most of the games where I got MR very fast :D
Yes it can be risky to take MR in round 1, but you also get 1 point ahead of the others. So a little attention is to be expected. It will be good to produce lots units fast and probably dont take Imperial i round 2 😂
