The addition of extra "a" sound is authentic Sanskrit pronunciation. Hindi suffers from shwa deletion and therefore it mangles how Sanskrit ought to be pronounced. In south India, where Sankrit pronunciation has been preserved all of the words are correctly pronounced.

I just bought the book by just reading the title... I just had a doubt If I can quote this stories, are they really present in our purana as in preface it is mentioned that "Creative liberties have been taken..."

Hey! I am a kannadiga and we add the A after Mahabharata and Ramayana as our language is such that. There's nothing wrong with it or strange in it. There is no original pronunciation as such because we are a diverse country and we have many languages and we derive our languages from Sanskrit and some are also Dravidian. That's all :)

Hello mam. As a beginner to the Puranas, this book has provided me with a great introduction to the intricate time cycles mentioned. I'm particularly curious about the information and stories within each Mahayuga, a part of the Manvantaras and kalpas. Will definitely read the book you mentioned in the end. Thankyou😊
