Quick question? I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree(Regular program) in Computer Science and Engineering, with a specialization in Smart Software Systems (ML) from universities in Ethiopia. Currently, I work as a software engineer(8 years experience) in an INGO in Ethiopia. I am considering moving to the USA and would be worth pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at MIU to enhance my chances of getting a good IT job, preferably in software development? Thank you for the informative podcast. Keep up the good work.
Thank for your sharing this please comment how to get experience for application requirement and also if you can list acceptable related fields other than computer science.
Thanks for watching our video. Please look on this website to see what other field of studies they offer. If you click on this link www.miu.edu/ and scroll down to the bottom, you get what you want. Thanks again.
For someone that don't have a programing background what do you recommend I study on? I'm learning java on my own and took the test once but failed? can you help me on which areas i need to focus on and study? is it Dsa? or just programing language specific? i am currently doing java programing 1 by MOOC for preparation? Thank you in advance!
MIU basically needs someone with skills and educational background on computer science. At least you need to have a certificate with well known center. It is good if you focus if you start working on Java mainly.
Technical interviews are conducted through video session with one of the professors at the university. Mostly asked questions are basked in Java core concepts and some design patterns. And there will be a coding question which is like sorting, filtering kind of simple Java challenges. This Technical interview conducted during in middle of your process just to make sure you fit with the program. And it’s not mandatory and not asked all the time.
Some people believe in that way and others don’t really care about it. But it could be a good way to learn about it from different sources like RU-vid.
Programming test will be conducted in ADDIS ABABA (some location) and it would be good to have the basic skills to attend the exam. You can also refer sample test on their website.
@@MadoDiaries We are all humans and have our own limitations and constraints within which we live our lives. We are all susceptible to making mistakes, which only makes us humans. What's important is that we learn about our mistakes, flaws, and limitations and carry these learnings for the rest of our lives. So, here I am sharing a mistake that I made in my life. In 2016, I joined a University in Iowa Fairfield only because they offered me a very tempting Scholarship. Just like anyone else, I was very excited to start this new phase of my life. However, little did I know back then that It was going to be so impactful in my life. In the beginning, they had this ceremony where they worshiped something weird and unorthodox. I couldn't even understand what it was, and the school administration compelled me to believe that it was just a school ritual meant to help students in improving their focus. They called it a form of meditation that improved the mindfulness of students. They also held this special ceremony to name me, just like baptization in Christianity. All of it was very disturbing for me. They also gave me a specific schedule that included worshipping time at 9:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 9:00 pm. It was just like the praying hours in any religion. But what were they telling me to worship? I couldn't comprehend that at first. They had the exact same religious rituals with only one difference. They were not worshipping GOD. They were worshipping the DEVIL. They wanted all the students to worship DEVIL on a daily basis. This was totally unacceptable. I felt devastated to find this out. It felt like I had moved away from my GOD, who had blessed me with so much. The school had misled me on the wrong path. They made me commit sins. They were training students in the wrong way through these tricks. I simply could not accept it. Luckily, it lasted only a year. I left the school after one year. The education quality there was poor. The teachers were not qualified at all. They only filled into roles. I felt suspicious about the qualifications of these teachers. Later, my sister and I found out about the incorrect credentials of a teacher who got fired after we reported him. This shows how messed up things were in that school. I know I had made a mistake in my ignorance. But, I am very glad that God had sent me there for a reason and a purpose. I was sent there to point out the wrongdoings and correct them. I did repent my mistakes to the priest. I felt disgusted about it. Even today, I cry about it. It greatly hurts me. When they open this school in my hometown, I felt great anger and disappointment. They are spreading the wrong message. They are spreading the message of the devil. They are not going to educate kids. People have this perception that they are opening this school to educate. However, it's not true at all. They have an agenda of their own and are only misguiding kids toward the devil.
