For the garden....Neem oil spray every few day! Florida is rough and the bugs come through in waves. Companion plants are also very important, they help to pull away some of the pests from the garden, for example: marigolds. Find ways to create and environment that invites the predatory bugs in, lady bugs, lace wings etc. They all have different plants that they prefer. It takes time and patience to really learn what works best for your space, but the goal is to kinda mimic the “perfect balance of nature” hope this helps and good luck!!!

Neem is good! I also use soap like castle soap as a insecticide...Mix it with water and use a sprayer to apply it. Now it does not work well on squash bugs.

Ive been working a garden since 1974 and when the bugs start eating my plants i use Sevin, you can get it in a concentrate that mixes with water or you can also use the powder form. Always worked great for me. Should be able to buy at any Lowes or Home depot.

For the garden- Neem oil, diatomaceous earth(food grade) and yes, Dawn soap in water. It's harder to control a bad infestation with organics, though. It's better to catch them early. There are some organic pest controls commercially available if you check with garden centers and online.

There's a product called Safer Soap that you mix up in a pest sprayer and hit your vegetables with every couple of days. It repels bugs and it's completely non-toxic. It works amazing, but it does take some effort since you need to do it about twice a week.

It’s not a natural process though so by default it’s got to be less than ideal for growing. Pests normally only bother with plants that have already had some kind of compromising weakness or damage. Build a good soil rich with microfauna and you’ll be laughing whilst the pests are crying. Don’t be lulled into spraying crops.... not never, even organically approved sprays can do harm... alternatively you could go for the pest vs lesser pest ideal.... say for example you have aphids.... get some ladybirds.... or plant a more aphid desirable plant next to the plant you want to get the pests off.... the pests would soon migrate to their more favoured plant.. I’ve heard of people intercropping nettles with salad greens to deter pests from the main crop.

Hey Gabe, I'm in NC. I'm 58 and have been around farms for most of my life,I do a 1/2 Acre with a tiller and I'm a disabled Vet.Organic farms have USDA approved Pesticides you can order,I use one from Bayer that i get a Lowes do'nt know if it is on the approved list, but I trust it and have never had a problem.I can pull corn right after I spray, squash in 3 days.,I also mix 1/4 cup of orange oil to 1 gallon of water.( like people use to make their own dish soap ).I also add 1/4 cup of Molasses to the same sprayer .Fire ants hate molasses , but love plants like okra.Look up the Dirt Dr on youtube. Also remember to spray late in the evening when the flowers are closed...Just find out what works for you

Hey Gabe, been following your channel for a while but this is my first comment. I'm watching this from the southern Caribbean and we've got all kinds of pests here. I started backyard farming about 2 years ago and slowly learned the tricks the hard way. I've finally built a shadehouse with heavy duty 50% UV shadecloth to mitigate sun and keep the large pests (iguanas, locust etc) out. Will no doubt protect against hail too! Small stuff (aphids, whiteflies etc) that pass through the mesh i control with home made organic neem oil spray once-twice a week. Works perfectly. Organic, safe and non-toxic. Wishing you all the best!

Hey Gabe, I live in west texas and hate spiders! I gardened for the first time last year and not wanting to use chemicals I tried the spider trick of Peppermint. I mixed it 50/50 peppermint/water. I used natures natural supply if ladybugs, lizards and towards the end of the season a large toad appeared. I sacrificed some tomatoes to the lizards and toads, but never had an issue with pests or spiders. I'm not sure it will work in the humidity of Florida , but might be worth a try! I will be doing it again this year too! Plus, Plus! The garden smells LOVELY😁

Bluegabe, Hey it's Mac, I live in Houston Texas and ever since you sold me on "Everything is better Wild!" That's all I do now Grass Fed Chicken, Wild Fish and Organic Fruit & Vegetables! We have the worst bugs in this Country and the only thing I know that works is a Homemade Spray made out of Water & Hot Pepper and make a Garlic Wash with Garlic & Warm Water and wash off all the leaves with it before you spray them, making sure you pick off any bugs along the way, after poor the remaining garlic water on the base of any stalk based plants to prevent any climbing or root bugs from taking up house on your plants! Bugs hate Hot Pepper Spray and Garlic and so do Birds this should do the trick, there are always over screen bags for upright plants, but that would be in the event that Ya'll had some unusual bugs! Try the Hot Pepper Spray, after you have washed them with The Warm Garlic Water Wash & A soft sponge or soft rag and make sure you pick of the bugs if you see them, poor the rest of the garlic water around the base of your stalks! "Don't Worry, Your Plants Won't Taste Like Hot Pepper or Garlic" Remember it's made from plants! Good Luck Bluegabe! Your Fan From Texas, Mac P.S. I finally got the last Tunnel Catheter removed from my chest and started chemotherapy treatment Sir.....it's more than I expected. Ok so here on the NC coast we have similar issues. So i have 2 inexpensive remedies for the garden bugs. 1. Buy and plant Marigolds (flowers). For some reason the bugs are driven away by them. Also buy a couple Mosquito bushes. They can be kept in containers and moved if you like. 2. Garden Tech Sevin Dust5. Just follow the directions and sprinkle ON the plants periodically, especially after rain. It kills and drives away over 65 insect types. Hope this helps.
