Useful video, mostly. Mahindra misses the boat, not having a video channel showing all this. The user manual pictures are awful, and since the 4025 is discontinued, many of the techs at dealer locations don't have the information needed. You would be shocked at the answers I got from authorized dealer techs on where the drain plugs are, most had no idea. Anyway.. in this video, you're using a Go Pro camera, and during the important part, (showing where the drain plugs are), the camera is turned at the wrong angle, which makes the actual location confusing. And, such a quick fly by of where you add the oil back in.. Yes, I should have a manual that shows all that, but can't find it. Other than those two small things, this is the best video out there for the 4025.
Thanks for the Mahindra Vids. I'm currently looking to buy a 4025 new in Australia. Not sure how much they've changed. Hopefully just enough to resolve old issues but not enough to create new ones. Havn't signed up yet. Having a serious look tomorrow. Time will tell.
I just bought a 2014 4025 4wd last weekend, so I'll be following you religiously as you do these maintenance activities. Have you done anything else (besides the expanded metal brush guard)? Thanks for the thorough vids! Looking forward to more.
Awesome tractors and thanks for commenting. I did a video about weld on chain hooks ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4geJmVLgfDE.html and just recently a video about changing leaking fuel lines. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-62XEvq_Zzuw.html
Thanks for video. Just got a 2wd 4025 670hrs, looks like new and always serviced. Does your tractor grind when shifting? Mine grinds frequently when shifting forward to reverse.
Not usually unless I'm still rolling either direction. It did take me a a few hours practice to get used to everything though. Mine seems to shift easier at low rpm, so unless I'm doing field work I normally use the throttle pedal rather than the lever. If it doesn't straighten up check your manual and see if there is a clutch adjustment you can make. Great tractor, good luck. BTW check your bolts, things work loose on these and that can get expensive. I pulled all my loader bolts 1 at a time and used red locktite just to be sure.
Thankyou. I have read manual and spoke to local dealer/mechanic who has known tractor since it was new. Said something could need adjusting, but said issue was probably me. Hydraulic fluid is clear, but wonder if I needed to change and go to different fluid type. This weekend will be changing motor oil
Have you serviced hydraulic yet? Book says 50hrs drain and fill. Says it’s filled with tractelf mm h3 but recommended is not part of the recommended fluid. Wonder if it’s a special fluid like a break in oil. Was considering draining mine and filling with rotella
360 hours on the clock. I think the book says change oil/filter every 200 hours, but I plan to change it at 100-150 just to be safe. I guess it depends on how often you use the tractor. I would change it at least once a year even if you don't put many hours on it. Thanks for asking, I meant to mention that in the video but forgot.
Ditto here as well. The first time I bought 2 gallons of motor oil the first time I went to change oil. Then went a little nuts trying to find the 2nd oil drain bolt. Nope. The 2wd 4025 does not have two oil drain bolts. Has an entirely different oil pan with a single drain bolt in the bottom and only holds 6 quarts max. I typically buy the 5-quart jug which gets the oil level to the middle of the dip stick range.
