Hi !! I watched all your videos. They all are very informative and knowledgeable. Appreciate your way of responding comments. Inspired by u I have decided to get one such vehicle. I want a small help from u. The vehicle I am planning to purchase looks exactly like M&M Marshal but it's M&M 750 Jeep. It has 4x4 transmission. only difference what I noticed is we can fold rear door window in it but Mahindra Marshal has no such provision. Need your thoughts to know more about the vehicle. In addition previous owner has replaced it's engine with DI one. Thanks in advance. Keep in touch.

Hi back and thanks for the flowers 🤣 But of course, in fact I am not a specialist of Mahindra vehicles in any way, I am just one of the many Marshal owners who loves his jeep 😁 Afaik M&M itself experimented a lot with the bigger jeeps also before the Marshal and had lot of similarities over the time between Commander, Armada and Marshal, before the Bolero range came and the old school jeeps vanished for a while completely and were only reanimated by the way of the Thar. I get often confused seeing elderly commanders or also Armadas and not knowing exactly all the differences in the stock versions, and almost all of the elderly jeeps were somehow customized and converted into whatever else by their owners. If your vehicle is by its papers a commander it still can easily be that there is almost no optical difference to a Marshal, and if it has even the engine of a Marshal it is at the end more or less at least a kind of a a self made Marshal. About the window, afaik there were no stock Marshals with rear window which could be opened, but I am also not sure whether all Commanders have had that feature. But of course one could easily build such a window into a commander as well as into a 'true Marshal' as well as one could replace the original rear side windows which can be opened by new big windows which are made from one piece. Very recently (couple of days back) I have even seen such a vehicle myself, means a jeep with such a rear door with a window to open. Happened to drive in front of me on the Doddakamanahalli Main Road in South Bangalore. I overtook it (easily and on scooty 🤣 ) and it looked like the vehicle had been somehow prepared for a paint job and was just on the way to get that done. rgds, Robert

I'm nervous driving anywhere now...my lack of automotive intelligence makes gravitate toward my feet...it looks like a beautiful but harsh countryside
@bangalorebobbel

Yes if someone stops driving for longer time it becomes difficult to restart it. Confidence is gone, all these automatic body moves have to be retrained, and so on. I remember that very well from own experience. I had a period in life where I almost stopped totally driving a car, didn't have one and did everything by scooty only. Coming back into driving a car happened under most horrible circumstances but since then I never stopped driving except now during lockdown, when I kept the car mostly inside. Yes I totally love these Aravalli scenery. Yet definitely harsh circumstances for those living there.

Inspired by your videos I had started searching for a used Marshal/ Bolero but couldn't find one I liked. Settled for a used Safari . Bare bones base model just like I wanted it. Plan to tour the country with it.

Wow, feeling honoured that I could inspire somebody 😁 Congratulations! Something like a Scorpio or a Tata Safari is absolutely ok, much more comfort than an old Marshal could ever deliver. Touring through India in your own vehicle is absolutely amazing, I'm sure you'll going to love it!

Yes the Indian road network has improved a lot in recent years, almost everywhere in India great roads now. Yet, in Bangalore itself we have still lot of challenges, lot of roads under construction or partially blocked by 'Namma Metro' work. So the good old Bangalore Traffic Jam is still there ... ;-) Danke fürs Reinschauen!

I really salute your patience, needs a ton of it to drive a MM Marshal from BLR to Rajasthan!
@bangalorebobbel
@bangalorebobbel 3 года назад
Thanks a lot, and absolutely yes, patience helps! 😁😁😁 But ok, it isn't that bad, usually it takes us not even 3 full days. Mostly we start by 5am in BLR and reach any place like Udaipur or Jaisalmer two days later in the afternoon, means if we start Monday morning we are Wednesday afternoon before sunset in Jaisalmer. Or we reach Udaipur just after lunch. Standard stopovers in Satara and Vadodara on the way up North, and Vadodara and Kolhapur on the way back home. As long as there is no technical issue, that works fine, and mostly we see also a little bit of the surroundings during driving. Anyhow, I like that whole thing. It is fun, maybe also little bit of an adventure, and I only hope that all these Coronavirus restrictions can soon be withdrawn and everybody can come back to normal. Also to normal traveling 😁

@bangalorebobbel
@bangalorebobbel 3 года назад
😊 LG, Robert

This marshal has power steering?
@bangalorebobbel
@bangalorebobbel 3 года назад
Depending on the driver, means in my case absolutely yes! 😁😁😁 Well, joking ... the Marshal has no power steering. But the driver should have enough power to steer it. In my case even double power, since I steer in such situations with only one hand and keep the camera in the other hand ... 🤣 But in fact, power steering is totally overrated, it isn't really required in most cases. As soon as a vehicle moves, steering is always possible with more or less power. I was driving even big trucks without power steering - old school trucks didn't have such gimmicks. And as less of such gimmicks a vehicle has as less can break ... so in general I do not need to have power steering, that's just one more part to break in difficult situations and to repair in the field if something goes wrong. I love old school vehicles with focus on simplicity and reliability, that's one of the reasons I got me a Marshal and not any of these modern SUVs with all kind of electronic gimmicks and sensors and what not ... 😉
@vatsalpatadia
@vatsalpatadia 3 года назад
@@bangalorebobbel Absolutely right. Power steering is required mainly when you need an ease of turning vehicle when its stationary. For example, parking in a less space. However, the same can be done with manual steering with a different technique. Manual steering is a black art, feared by many and understood by few...:D Well, power assisted steering and automatic transmission vehicles have opened door for many drivers who otherwise would have found driving extremely uncomfortable on a regular basis.

😁 LG, Robert

What happens to old vehicles if scrap policy is implimented to 20 year old vehicles?
@bangalorebobbel
@bangalorebobbel 3 года назад
afaik is is planned that It has to pass a fitness test which is told to be more strict than what is done now already at 15 years old vehicles (and then following every five years) and costs a fortune (40.000 or so). But these are so far only spoken threats, the details are not published. So let us see what finally really comes and what will be enacted.
