Cannot believe you made it at home. It looks like Factory made thing.
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
Thank you, yes we love building things ourselves. It is so much cheaper then getting it made by someone else. I did my research before building ours and they cost up to 3 times more then what we spent. Thank you for watching, and please share my channel with your friends 😀 🙏

I'm thinking between this and the gwm cannon
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
Ok. The biggest difference between the two is, the gwm is more hilux while the mahindra is more landcruiser. The cannon is more road orientated compared to the mahindra is more farm/offroad suited. The cannon has more tech, comfort and power. Where the mahindra is more robust and capable of going offroad with a lot less fuss. It all comes down to exactly what you need it for, and work out which of the two would fill that role. They are both great value for money, so do your research carefully. Hope this helps with your decision mate👍

@grahamharris4wdadventures53 Thanks for your reply mate : I'm a painter which indeed I'd need a canopy, plus I'll more oriented on manual gearbox, I've been driving for 20 years manual gearbox and now I have a territory with zf transmission and for how smooth and effortless the transmission does everything for ya I'd still prefer manual. And yes honestly I'm like 75% oriented to the mahindra, I like the way yuor looks mate ! Good job. And totally agree with your differences points, I would also say that to me, the mahindra and the GWM , if you make an endurance test , mahindra would win ,hands down. Mahindra is known for tractors , so they know how to build ,heavy duty stuff! I like even the new suv scorpio coming sun in Australia. By the way I'm from Perth, and I'm Italian, just got my p.r. to stay in Australia forever. and I love Australia so I need a car suitable for this country. 79 series or defender would be my heart choice but the budget is limited, and I prefer buy a brand new car even in the cheap side but doing all the history of it. Cheers mate
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
No problem and congratulations on becoming an Aussie. I'm sure you will be happy with your choice. And thank you so much for watching. It's good people like yourself that help me do what I do. Take care😀👍

How do you find it running the big 265’s ?? Lose power
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
I have definitely lost a bit of power. But that is a combination of extra weight and tyres. It's hard to say what percentage of that is just the tyres. But yeah it does work a bit harder.

Nope. Same size as original ones

@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 wish you would have built that tray before I took delivery of my vehicle, would have happily paid you for one.
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
In all honesty, when I bought the mahindra I didn't want a tray on it. But the dealership wouldn't take it off. So I had to buy it with the tray. It wasn't until it was sitting in the workshop for a month that we decided to give it a complete make over. So timing and finance had to line up to do the build.

@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 this is my first tray back, only got the tray because that's what everyone else had. what are your thoughts on trays versus tubs in general???
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
If the tub has a lockable hard lid then yes. Our Colorado has the tub with a lockable hard lid, and it comes in so handy. And rain doesn't get in it. But a tray with folding sides is so much more useful and easier to get into. I actually miss my tray, as I can't throw bins, tyres, rubbish, etc, in it anymore. But I do have an awesome touring set-up. Lol

Looks great now Graham. Love the colour coding. Just wondering why for a tourer you went with the M/T as opposed to the R/T Klevers as I was looking at those for mine?
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
G'day, and thanks for watching. Yeah 2 reasons why I went for a touring set-up. First is I wanted this set-up for day of purchase. Unfortunately when I went to buy one, they all had trays on them. So this gave me the opportunity to finally build the set-up I wanted. And secondly, we didn't need another tray back ute. We have the Colorado with a tub style set-up. The shorty cruiser that is a wagon, and the hj45 cruiser with the tray we built for it. So instead of having that second tray back, it made sense to do a full touring set-up. It's way more practical for what we have planned for the mahindra now. I was always throwing stuff on the back seat so it didn't get wet from rain, especially driving out to work. And now it has plenty of storage compared to the standard tray. As for the tyres, definitely didn't want A/T tyres on those rims. Muddies offered more width and an aggressive look to the whole vehicle. And iv never actually had mud tyres on it. So I was keen to see how it looked and performed with them on. Hope this answers your questions. 👍🙂

Questions, Is the floor under the canopy redundant? Could you just bolt the canopy to the frame and save some weight? Asking because that what I am thinking of doing.
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
Yes and no. The floor has the rubber mat on it, as it's there to stop the vibration from the tray going through to the canopy. We did the same on our toy hauler, and it works a treat. No cracking at all. It was a weight sacrifice I was happy to make.

Lovely Ep and lovely job on the tray, I know steel is easy to work with, Just wandering why you did not use Alloy for the frame work, as that set up will be heavy
@grahamharris4wdadventures53
Pretty simple mate. I don't have the set-up for welding alloy. Definitely looking at doing it in the future. But I had steel there and plenty of mig gas. So I went with what I had.
