Mahindra XUV300 1.5TD W8 (2019) Review - Best Mahindra SUV Yet?

A few months back I attended the SA national media launch event and test drove the new Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV. At first-glance its immediately distinguishable “cheetah-like” front-end, swopping lines and daytime running lights. With what was a very impressive first-time drive, the urge was certainly strong to spend an extended test period experiencing with Mahindra’s latest model and brand evolution, the new XUV300.
An OEM With Big Plans
Mahindra is one of South Africa’s fastest-growing OEM’s. Models such as the KUV100 NXT, TUV300, Pik-Up, XUV500 and Thar, for instance, has seen the brand showcase an array of vehicles to suit every need, offer every feature and perhaps most importantly fit every budget. This the new XUV300 can, therefore, I believe can be seen as the next evolution-cycle for the Indian automaker as it focuses on bringing models which go beyond the scope of many others within their particular segment.
While the compact crossover segment has many competitors, the XUV300 brings with it some features and vehicle kit which help make it stand out from the crowd, the likes of 7-airbags within the W8 model, for instance, is best-in-class. Further on the safety side, the XUV300 boasts ABS with cornering brake control, ESP with rollover mitigation, hill-hold assist and tyre pressure monitoring. There are ISOfix child seat anchorage points on the outer rear seats, and much like the SsangYong Tivoli upon which it is based, it scores and impressive 4-Star Euro NCAP Crash Safety Rating.
Bold Design In & Out
Apart from the generous level of standard kit which can be found within the XUV300, style is clearly an area of utter importance. On the outside, the vehicle features striking lines, while within the cabin, the choice of cream and black surfaces help make for luxurious presence.
Clear driver-focused dials can be illuminated in an array of colours, while at the centre of the dash, a very easy to operate media display features. Within this the W8 model, the multimedia display even features the likes of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in addition to voice-guided navigation and Bluetooth.
On The Road
The XUV300 is available in either petrol or diesel with power sent through a 6-speed manual transmission. This range-topping 1.5-litre turbodiesel unit produces a healthy 86 kW and 300 Nm of torque. While a course engine note can be noted low within the rev range, the motor offers-up impressive oomph and a claimed combined fuel economy of a low 4.8-litres/100 km.
Conclusion, SA Pricing & Warranty
Finally, to conclude, the new Mahindra XUV300 starts at a price of R249,999 (W6 Petrol) with this the range-topping W8 Diesel model costing R324,999. The price includes Mahindra’s very impressive 5-year/150 000 km warranty and 5-year/90 000 km service plan, as well as large parts on hand inventory adding to what is true peace of mind.

Bro ,why don't you try TATA Nexon Ofcourse it is not available in your country,but you can see in internet It's beat xuv3oo ,it is best performance, safety, comfort, Bhp rich feeling interior, design 🔥etc.... there is no infront of Nexon facelift 🔥🔥🔥

Every thing is alright but engine and driving experience of xuv 300 is way higher than nexon . Tata has to do a lot for their engine performance

Really man? Engine and power? DKL fans are the big reason why Tata receives most of the hatred than it's product being the reason itself. Drive Nexon and 3OO back to back and you know what's it all about. I accept that Nexon have safety but not more than 3OO. 3OO scored more points than Nexon, but considering Nexon sharing platform with indica it's appreciable. 3OO have less bootspace than Nexon but way better legroom. Even if you manage to say 3OO is ssangyong, just do some research as only platform is used rest from engine, body panels etc it's all by Mahindra. Btw harrier have platform from Ford eucd, later used in land rovers, and engine from fiat.
