The original 1994 version and the 2000 version are better than the 2017 remake! They removed so many jokes and events from the original anime and manga in the remake. The 1994 version followed the manga very faithfully till volume 4 (till episode 31 in the 1994 anime, the remaining episodes were original content but were very enjoyable.). Volume 5 till 11 were covered in the 2000 version "Doki Doki Densetsu Mahoujin Guru Guru" which was again better than the remake with better pacing.
wtf better pacing?? how can you say that, the pacing of the remake is great. Its so fast it gets you hype...thats the best kind of pacing for a wacky comedy like guru guru. Also the animation is brilliant and the design fits everything just perfect, its even incorporating all these outdated references to retro gaming/anime into the artdesign of the show. I know it can't cover as much as the 1994 and 2000 version, however with only 24 episodes it gets as much great stuff into it as humanly possible and judged on its own the story works very well. The thing is, they wanted to take us back to the 90's where something like Guruguru could just have a 50+ episode show, but its not working like that anymore and with a smaller epcount and modern animation techniques I still feel like I am back in the 90's with this show, from the humor to the references to just the way of animating certain things this show is so very much a callback to those kinds of adventure shows.
@@Lucasroboguy I completely forgot I made this comment wow. Okay so let me explain: There was this meme going around I think around the time I made this comment, and the title of this video had similar words as in that meme. Basically Nickelodeon India made an advertisement trying to be very relatable to the kids and everyone was making fun of it through edits. At the end of the meme video it says something like “guru cool” and my mind at the time of writing this comment said, “hur hur, I can make a reference to this, everyone will get it.” I now look back at this comment with confusion as even I didn’t immediately recognize what I was trying to say. I guess for context you can look up “Nick India dab” and listen to what the narrator says at the end. Sorry for the confusion.
