Hope you had a great time. I am designing my own reversed trike bicycle. In the shape of a car but a lot smaller. And i'd like to build a little caravan of 1 meter wide. That is about 3 ft. I wil need elecxtric support motor. But not with a throttle cabel because in our country that would be a electric mopet. So that is no problem for me because it would have made me lazy. And i just need some support with towing a camper. The bicycle is going to be 2 seater. And both the passenger and myself can paddel the bike. And we don't share the gears. Passenger can put it in his own gear. I have also design a heater. Made from an old oil lamp. I wil take the glas off and maken one of copper. If you like to kno more about my heater i can send you an email and you can build one your self :D Greetings from the Netherlands,, Kitty.

I have wanting to get out for weeks but bad cold weather has been slow to move over for summer. I hope to leave in a couple days for a longer trip. I have changed everything already, but the new headlight still needs to be installed.

Thanks for sharing this appealing design. Will be interesting to see an update. Examples of further aspects I would like to see or hear about: Steering design (turn radius, shell, frame and leg clearance, sensitivy at different speeds,...), why not drive the (closer) front wheels, overall frame design and welding or other attachment methods involved, shock absorbtion, seat comfort, splash protection around the open pedal area, overall cost so far?

It is built on the TerraTrike Rover. You can look up more online. I extended it as Terra Trike does on the tandem version. I can turn around on a country road from shoulder to shoulder. I don't like going faster than 35 mph. You only get wet if the water is deeper than the holes, not recommended. The seat is comfortable for all-day riding. There are no shocks but the extended length and fatter tires seem to be enough to smooth out the ride. I didn't keep track of the cost. I purchased the trike over 12 years ago for $1000. I spent about $500 or $600 on design choices that did not work. Probably, an overall cost of more than $3000.

This video raises a whole lot of questions! Did you stretch an existing trike or is it an atomic zombie type build? I didn't pay enough attention about wattage of the solar panels, motor, battery etc. Years ago a Mr. Handy from here in Utah made a hybrid trike with pedals, electric, and used fryer oil diesel engine with free wheeling. The contraption needed a motorcycle license, it didn't have a fairing or solar panels but was capable of highway speed, but not interstate speed, comparable to a 250 cc scooter that could be pedaled in an emergency, or use electric for work around town. Not snow capable being open, but a summer toy.

It is a stretched Terratrike Rover. The solar setup is stated by where I purchased if from to be 600 watts. I replaced the original motor with a proven one I have used in the past. It is a 24 volt 500 watt motor. The battery is a LifePo4 24 volt 30 ah. It is a legal eBike in the USA.

Thank God for auto part store along the way. Lotta weight with no motor, but all’s well that ends well. Stay safe and strengthen those legs before you go back out. Dead legs and a motor are not the match made in Heaven😎

Unfortunately, the warm weather is over and winter is back. So it will be several months before I can get my trike legs in shape. I will be back on the road doing motorhome deliveries and hopefully getting some hiking in, in the Southwest.

@@Far-Beyond-Ordinary What is the weight of the trike itself. I know you mentioned 440# in your video which I assume is with all your gear and yourself included. Do you think you will ever consider offering plans and or contruction manual? (Obviously dependent on trike platform) more of a guide etc.. I am assuming you used Eternabond tape for assembly is what it looks like in the video. What is your expected range on a charge? Sorry for all the questions😊
@Far-Beyond-Ordinary
@Far-Beyond-Ordinary Год назад
@@Jeremy-hm1pw I did not weigh it without the gear. I will this spring. I do not plan to make plans available. I used Gorilla tape and Gorilla 38 lbs double-sided tape. The range is indefinite even with an overcast sky. Battery power alone depends on the hills, wind, road surface, speed, and how much gear. Flat and smooth you may get 15 to 20 miles on battery alone with the solar unplugged.

Man, the motor on this one is noisy. Now know why he's wearing earplugs all the time. I would have found a quieter motor after the first trip with that one. How you managed a six-hundred-mile trip with that noise is beyond me.
