This makes me really happy, what a beautiful model and a fantastic picture. I've already seen more beautiful models of this pilot and constructor. Always beautiful. Huge thanks for this video, it makes me a happy person!
Absolutely a beautiful model and so well detailed. I see its modelled on the Australian Grey Nurse Squadron. They were Mk VIII Spitfires with the pointy Tip rudder and retracting tail wheel. Basically a more refined version of the Mk IX. The engine in your model sounds fabulous. It's a credit to you
Supermarine were in the development stage of the Mk VIII at the time of the introduction of the German FW190. The German fighter generally outclassed the Spitfire V which was the mainstay British fighter then in production. In order to counteract the FW190 a hurried solution was to use the Mk V airframes in production and modify them to fit the Merlin 61 engine . This involved lengthening the nose and incorporating an additional larger radiator under the left wing. This became the ‘rushed’ Mk IX spitfire. The Mk IX was the second most produced spitfire behind the MK V. This is because it used a modified Mk V airframe. The Mk IX gained ascendency over the FW190. Supermarine could then get back to the Mk VIII spitfire which offered a lot of new refinements and the tooling required to build it was different. The Mk VIII offered a retractable tail wheel, a pointy tail rudder for better directional stability, there was now better pilot protection plus many other refinements. The Mk VIII was the ultimate Merlin engined Spitfire.
Thank you very much - but I did not think the maiden was good, there was still something wrong. This one was better -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LlQ6-dVcWi0.html
that's no problem, that was the Maiden and he was not so good ... Now I have a smaller propeller (26,9" instead of 27,9"), the Spitfire is faster now and has an better sound ;-) We will soon be making a new video!
Beautiful model - great sound and performance! You should be very proud. Not sure about the Kittyhawk style toothy grin on the chin. That wasn’t typical of spits.
Thank you very much - the design is from the "Spitfire grey nurse squadron No.457". Here is a link to read or just search for it in Goolge -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._457_Squadron_RAAF
thank you very much, and turbo - if you can build me one for this engine? so that nothing breaks and the temperature stays the same 🧐🤷🤷 I think it won't work, there's no space. It's too tight. you can't do everything 😉
Excellent aircraft, nice flying ;) Wonder who would have the ability / time / cash to make a Dh. 98 Mosquito with 2X 310cc 4-cylinder Kolms... that would be simply epic... or a Dh.103 Hornet ;)
servus.
@@RCPLANEVIDEOS hi ho. ah ok wieder was gelernt.
I had the original Fiber Classics Mk. 1 back in the early 1990s. The cowling parting at the leading edge of the wing ruined it. At the time the 3W 80R2 was underpowered and unreliable. Hopefully you have had much more fun with yours.
Thank you, was the Maiden, many things were not quite right on the "setup" ... here was better: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dGQ71bLSqts.html
@@RCPLANEVIDEOS I understand, maiden flights are also extra exciting, even with all pre-flight checks, it's always a surprise how things will turn out. I'll have a look at the other video soon.
Beautiful model and engine. Superb scale flying. My question is about how you managed to cool the engine with it completely cowled in. How did you achieve this? It is a mystery to me.
Thank you and of course the cooling works, even now with the muffler ;-) Is actually easy, air in, through the engine and out again. Here are pictures at the beginning of the video -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LlQ6-dVcWi0.html If you want more you have to send me your email address.
I read long ago that two strokes get most of their cooling done by the gas/oil mix itself. With modern oils doing such a great job nowadays, maybe that's all you really need.
here is a Ramoser Vario Prop 27,9"x15" installed. On this new Video with muffler and 16" pitch ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LlQ6-dVcWi0.html - Infos see video description. I have also testet a RamoserVarioProp 26,9" with 16-17" pitch, but now I fly a Fiala 28x16 3-blade, is better and a little faster, here is a little Video with the Fiala Prop -> facebook.com/GmeinerMarkus/videos/2384140561907642/
Yes, will go ... at the beginning the tank control how much fuel is still inside ;-) At the beginning he needs a bit more fuel, since after 4-5 minutes land and control Our Kolm engines need 50-60ml fuel per minute. here is a new Video, run´s better :-))) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dGQ71bLSqts.html
yes, is my model (19,2kg) all information can be found in the description ;-) here we have a new video of the Spitfire -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dGQ71bLSqts.html
where should I stand then? ... is easier to start with a warbird because the rolling distance is longer until it takes off. So you can correct faster and better with the rudder.
RC PLANE VIDEOS standing along the side of your field where then you don’t have to walk to the side while flying your plane seems a little safer to me. Standing on the side the rudder still deflects right or left. Safety should always come first.
I do not think so. Standing by the side when such a big model starts is no security. We have no fence box for the pilot like others, and we are also often at foreign airfields where we do not know so well. I've seen where a model crashed into the pilot, that was not funny. I always start my models from behind, that's the best for me and my model ;-) What do you fly for models?
RC PLANE VIDEOS i fly warbirds. You can’t go to any fly in and stand behind your plane to take off. No difference from standing along the side. Just a bad habit
I still have 3 videos from my Spitfire: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dGQ71bLSqts.html (without muffler) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LlQ6-dVcWi0.html (with muffler) facebook.com/GmeinerMarkus/videos/2384140561907642/?t=4 (new Propeller, Fiala 28x16)
