Maiden - FMS 1700mm PA18 Super Cub Part 1 20 Nov 2021 

Hi Brian - what an aircraft - I just loved it - as you say a "Good Solid Kite" - It is a little on the large side for the CAR - regardless to this it will down the field with me more often now, It is making me think that I might sell off some of my small aircraft (not all but some) to make room for some larger ones I have yet to build - will start I think by selling off some of the HK warbirds... I am not including any of my smaller 50mm EDF jets - Stay well - In the office on Monday ... Martyn

HI Ian - Yes it was cold today , I decided to sleep in and not to the field (well we had stronger winds) Than yesterday - I have had this PA18 built and ready to fly for about 6 months and it just sat in my bedroom - I only wish I had flown it sooner - IT IS AWSOME...and I have not even attempted to put it though its paces yes, you know loops , rolls.. that type of thing- I will go and watch your video that I have seen posted about your flight - have a good week - Best Martyn

I purchased the nose art in a bulk lot of over 50 mixed types - from ebay - they are stickers based on Anime...

nothing was gained at all on performance if anything it got worse, I changed the prop at this time as I preferred the look of a three blade rather than the two blade on this aircraft , that's all....cannot recall the size I might say in the video at some point ?? or on the Assembly video, it was two years ago, oh and I now have a Standard two blade back on it. - all you do is loose 1 inch when going from two to three blades in size and keep the pitch the same... for example if the two blade was 15 x 9 then the three blade is a 14 x 9 or as close as I can get so it could be 14 x 8.5 etc... or 13.5 x 9 I have posted a video on how to calculate the size and pitch changes but do not recall what I called it ??

@@FlankerTanker i kinda was expecting this would be your answer to my question. Lol i went down the same road with the FMS Beaver 2.0m i just didnt care for the 2 bladed 15x9 stock propeller and changed it to the FMS 1400mm Corsiar 14x9x3 bladed propeller instead with the pratt n whitney correct looking variable speed prop spinner and other than LOOKS that all that got better with it. These engineering guys designing these planes do their home work to get the best power to battery time on these current crop of planes

The can be purchased from Ebay , banggood - and I am sure other locations - they are called EASY-LIGHTS and come in two different formats - wired or none wired - I use None wired so I can share them between different aircraft -... they come as a set of three (RED, GREEN and WHITE) and each have three different flash settings..

Hi mark - the camera on the tail is a Mobius 808 No.32 - I have a few of these - the only reason it is Orange is that I had one come off from the belly of an edf jet, it was just luck that let me find it - so I painted them Orange.. (they come in black)...

I drive a Hatchback I can get it in with only needing to remove one of the wings and leave the other one connected - to save connectors I alternate each wing for each trip

I use two different cameras on the aircraft - the large cameras I use are RUNCAM2's these tend to be used on the larger aircraft the smaller camera's are Mobius 808 #32.

the Prop adapter is the one it comes with - the spinner is a LOGIC RC 2.25" three blade spinner.

I replaced the standard 12 x 7.5 with a master Aircrew 11 x 7 so lost 0.5 in pitch...

what 3 blade prop components did you have to use to accomodate the 3 blade prop ? Spinner, back plate, adapter, etc etc . Thanks

it is a master Airscrew 11x7 - BUT I have since replaced it with the original two blade prop as a three blade is not as efficient and the flight times were reduced because of it, going back to the two blade I can have longer flights....

Master Airscrew - 1" shorter than the Two Blade it comes with.

Master aircrew 11x7 three blade. I do this as I personally like the look of a three blade prop on some of my aircraft...especially high wing ones.
