Yep, I just bought one for a 68th birthday gift. I had similar ugly sticks years ago with wood & carbon rod sticks as the body. Loved them especially their slow flight capability. For this one I just picked up a ZOHD Kopilot and intend to install it for windy days and getting home because my eyes were never great and even less so now. I expect it will be one of my favorite go to planes especially since I like relaxed flying.
@@FatGuyFliesRC Yep. Every one loves the plane, not the landing gear. I think I have a mod lined up where I'll weld a square plate to the gear and mount the plate to the fueslage with a bit of angular bracing. The ones I had before were actual stick bodies and mine were only elevator, rudder but boy did the fly well. I always wanted the bigger guy with 4 channel setup.
Good video! I seen this plane advertised and its alot of plane for 120 range. Side note: You can turn off the start and stop beeping for timer based on throttle in radio :)
Looks like it flies nice!!! This seems to be the best deal that I can find for the size/price/power range... I might have to grab this up for my 2nd plane....
I am very pleased with mine. I would not recommend this for a new pilot however. The mini apprentice or the Carbon Cub s2 are great beginner planes and big enough to handle some Florida weather.
Only thing I have noticed that I dont like is that the markings are identical under the wing and with its slim profile orientation can be an issue. Thanks for watching and being a suscriber!!
nicely done video and especially appricate the prior build videos you do ....great info for those like myself who tend to choose to buy the model ......I'd like to request a couple of informational points at the conclusion of you flight test videos that would be greatly helpful to us ...please add a battery check, letting us know what percentage was left in reserve and rate the tested model as beginners 1st plane , 2nd plane or an advanced model.....thanks again and keep the great videos coming.....
I mis-spoke earlier. The 'Little Stick' I built back around 1977 (balsa) had an OS Max .25, not a .15. Not that it matters :-) ; it's like a kid being 6 yrs. old or 6 1/2, lol. It was one of the best aerobatic/stable planes I ever built. Have a great week.
It's a good little plane that flies well ! I would reinforce the landing gear now before it gets torn off . Only problem I had had with it otherwise I really enjoy it.
Congratulations on her maiden....just want to ask once you have set trims..do you then ...adjust manually at the Clovis or do you set sub trim, and then zero the stick trims you had set during the maiden ?
I ensure that all servos and control arms and control surfaces are at complete neautral at the build. And thats the time I decide just how far i want the deflection to be. I eyeball the deflection with the radio and if I am happy then maiden it. If its to extreme or too weak THEN I adjust the travels or trim in the transmitter. Hope this answed your question. Basically mechanical then electronically until I am happy. All planes are unique and have their own quwerks and this method seems to work for me.Thanks for watching and being a suscriber!!
Hi, Thank you for the effort in making the three videos. Did you notice that the plane pulled up sharply when the throttle was applied? I was wondering whether it needs a little bit of down thrust?
Well perhaps, she is very twitchy but a sport model so she is going to be agile. A think a more gradual take off and smaller corrections would be in order. I just need to fly her more to truly decide wether i want to put in a down mix in. FYI I subded your channel.
I noticed your using a DX9 transmitter. I have the IX12 but thinking about getting the DX9 because the Android system in the IX12 is too slow. What are your thoughts ? Thanks!
All I can tekll you is that I am very pleased with my DX9 black edition. My only comparison is the DX6 which I fried with an after market battery in backwards. And the none programable DXE4.
Nice plane and maiden, but why you want to take off facing the sun? You should checkout the MASTER STICK by Hacker and offered by Twisted Hobby, great flying and very docile plane and fully aerobatic, Twisted Hobby has some really cool products, their F-22 raptor is a very unique aircraft and one of my favorite to fly...
This is the only stick style plane I have flown. It flies well in wind. I have never flown it in 15mph or more but it does better that I thought it would in wind. I am not aware of your skill level but I enjoy how she handles in wind. Here is a link where I fly her in 10mph or more, unfortunately I rip the landing gear out. Fixed now with 5min epoxy. Stronger than before! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y9HopXBTcgU.html
