Just purchased a Brooklyn Kayak Company SK12 and taking it out for the first time, while getting in a little bit of fishing. #soloskiff #fishing #brooklynkayakcompany
What a beautiful kayak! I been watching your channel for about a week now and I really like how pure your content. Nothing flashy just a dude talking to a camera. Hope to see some catch, clean cooks with this new kayak
Thank you for the kind words and for watching! Definitely will do some camp, catch, clean and cook trips very soon on the new yak, and looking very much forward to it!
Congrats on the new vessel, looks like it's perfect for the places you're fishing. Can't beat having that success fishing on the maiden voyage. Tight lines!
Wow, thanks for commenting @brooklynkayakcompany! Also a big thanks for making such an awesome vessel. The customer service I received from support was second to none as well! I plan on doing a more extensive review of the SK12 here soon.
Hey I meant to tell you where the ice for the cooler was, a big sign that says ABC, take a right as you're going into town and you'll see it on the left of the highway. And also, the camping spot passed bullsluce, well i forgot to tell you that bullsluce is great for kayaking but definitely be careful that one's kinda gnarly at times lol you and your brother have fun camping
Hey do you mind measuring the top of the transom to the bottom of the boat for me? I’m going to mount an outboard on mine but don’t know which shaft length to get. Thanks in advance ! Love the vids btw!
Hey @anthonywalker5410, that is awesome, glad to hear you are getting a SK12, super happy with mine! The measurement is right around 20 inches. Here is the one I purchased and it is a good fit. suzukioutboardteam.com/suzuki-6-hp-df6as5/ I really appreciate you watching and for the support!
Hey @Markchance08. I was between this one and the SOLO skiff before purchasing. Although I haven't tried the SOLO, my experience with this one has been a very good one. In regards to a wet ride, when the water is calm and winds are below 10mph, I have stayed dry. This week I was on it when the winds were 20mph and I am not going to lie, i was soaked lol! I would reccommend it, especially for the price, it is a great bang for the buck. I have no regrets. Thanks for watching Mark!
Great Kayak I purchased a SK-12 9/23/23 Did you recive a M.C O. TO LICENCE YOUR KAYAK? I have been unable to get one from BBC. And now must seek legal action to get a M.C.O. I love this kayak ,But cant register it. BBC is a huge disapointment. Wont answer e- mail , Or phone calls.
Hey @user, I did not receive it when i purchased it either. I had to email and call support and then they sent me a copy. It has to be an original as well to register at DMV. I did not have the same experience with BKC customer service. They were very helpful and they were quick. I hope they get back to you soon and you get it figured out. Glad you love the vessel, I do too! Thanks for watching and hope you get it figured out soon!
Hey, I have a few questions about this particular skiff. That motor? Strong enough or would you go a touch bigger? I am 6’6 and about 270 so I might be a touch larger, lol. Is there any add on a that you have done that are fantastic or don’t do it? I just ordered this boat and just wandering about motor. In Ormond Beach so will be targeting similar area’s like Halifax n Matanzas River
Hey, @garyknight8620, honestly the 2 1/2 HP was not enough and I do not recommend it. I actually upgraded to the Suzuki 6 HP outboard and it works much better and very happy with the change! Not any add-ons, but I do plan on putting a fish finder/depth finder on soon. I think it would be perfect for where you are trying to fish, maybe we can get out there together one day. Thanks for watching and all the best!
Hey @michael, not fast enough. I actually upgraded to the Suzuki 6hp after this run. I would estimate that I was getting about 3-4 mph with the 2.5 and now 8-10 mph with the 6hp. Thanks for watching!
