Maidenhead District Two Up Smash Ride | Joining New Cycle Groups

I feel a little bit like Gordon Ramsey on his Kitchen Nightmaress but i promise you im not here to review or critique different cycle clubs, i just like sharing my experience when i get invited to join them.
Maidenhead District is, as it turns out, my closest cycle club to me and they invited me for a Sunday ride. A route went round which was about 65km from start till the cafe stop. I didnt manage to pull it off Komoot as my subscription has expired.
As always a bit of a different ride and it was nice to do some hill smashes and wait for everyone to regroup before moving on. If yuo are ever in the Wargrave/Henley area then i can certainly recommend H'Artisan as a cafe.
Great first big ride on the Winspace SLC 3.0- it loved the hills and i think it has convinced me to take it abroad asap.

Haha i think people see all the local roads i ride on and are happy to invite me along, its become a fun thing to do, going to ride with other groups. I also think in a small way it helps these clubs a bit so more people can find out about them, so happy to do it

Another great inspiring video and well done Maidenhead club in being so welcoming. Cafe looked great accommodating cyclists and non cyclists.

I might have to dig out my first bike frame so people can see that when I first got into it, it was all just about getting a bike that works and enjoying it

Great ride out Max , I’ve been there several times times although haven’t been there yet this year ! Hoping to change that very soon. I live near Heathrow Airport so it a great ride out there & back. The bike looks very slick , keep the deep section Winspace wheels on 💪🏾👍🏽

It was cool- you end up doing a double shift on the front and if you keep it steady you can build the watts slightly and help the group move faster. It’s a nice way to pull, and you can ride on the front for a couple of minutes or more at a time

Looks a great ride. Never ridden up the hill towards Fawley so going to give that a go. Great living in Maidenhead as I can 'borrow' your rides from Strava 😀 Are you doing the Red Kite Ride next weekend?

They look like 80mm deep rims 😮.....i'm looking to buy 65's.....80's are too much for me atm.

Mine are 67's. 21mm internal. I think the front is slightly shallower, so maybe 60mm and rear is 67. Check them out on the Winspace website and i think i have a discount code somewehre. Maybe "ThewattLife10" or "WattLife10"

I never said it was a good idea- I just hadn’t got round to putting the cages on after building it up, I also thought the ride was 45 miles and that didn’t seem too bad

My guys- I promise you I don’t do this on purpose. The cages were on another bike and that bike was somewhere else, it was an honest mistake and if you see any other videos I’m running a cage. I’m not out here promoting not running cages for 100km rides ✌🏻👌🏻 my bad
