Mail Art - Recycling Junk Mail Envelopes

I splodge some Gesso or white paint on any print on them, then put some acrylic paint on a credit card, drag it across and then use a different colour or put a couple on the card at once. Sometimes I add some pieces of old scrap text/sheet music or put it on prior to the paint. Stamp it here and there too. I just think of it as an old envelope and play around on it. They're good to use to wipe excess paint on as well. I love it that you never know how it might turn out. I'm not the best at measuring up and, more than likely, it won't line up. Your's are perfect. X

Hi Mawmawvee :) I added my papers to the outside of the envelopes, but the inside of those envelopes are pretty too. I often use the inside of those envelopes as patterned papers for other projects. We're waiting for tropical storm Barry to hit us soon and praying it will break up and I was so tired. I didn't realize that I had so much plant pots all over the carport that needed to be contained so they wouldn't fly all over the place in the wind, though we're expecting a lot of heavy rains, which is really a problem. After I asked about your pretty paper, it dawned on me that was your own paper and you re-fashioned the envelope to use with the beautiful paper covering it. I just loved it and will try making some pockets to hold things as well as for sending cards and sussies to our great-granddaughters. You are such a sweetheart. :D

So far, so good, thank you. The storm is coming straight for the City where we live, but it's acting very squirrely. I hope that keeps up because it's very disorganized and that's good. There are all sorts of other weather phenomena around it that keep interfering with this storm. Interesting, but we could have done without it all. Our little cat has been all upset since Tuesday and she knew this storm was coming before we did. Animals can tell us a lot. She won't let us out of her sight. While we were setting up the generator and battening down loose things, she was playing all over the carport and getting into all sorts of things like a little kid, but she is because she's an older kitten we took in to foster months ago and was feral, but she trusts us for safety. Thank you for your good thoughts, hugs and kisses. It's nice to think that someone so far away is thinking of the people in the storm's path.

susan myrick I cut the envelope to include the window then seal open edges and use for simple shaker cards. Nice and simple and very mailable because it's so flat.
